Colors of WP7

Colors of WP7

Windows Mobile users have always been fans of customizing the look and feel of the apps. ( Personally I ain’t that interested in themes ) with WP7 they will be limited to just the background and accent colors. ( In some cases you might be able to change the background image too ). This is how it breaks down :

You can choose one of the 2 background color dark or light ( read black or white ).

The 10 accent colors, magenta , purple, teal, lime, brown, pink, orange, blue, red and green.

The default Theme is a dark background with the blue accent color, but mobile operators or phone manufactures can override this setting.

Calendars on the PC

Calendars on the PC

When it comes to Windows Phone 7 we have to look at what the people who got a developers device are saying ( at least till the Microsoft employees start to put WP7 on ebay ;) ). Today we ( via windowsphonesecrets.com ) have some information to share with you guys about Calendars on Windows Phone 7.

Lets get the basic things out of the way WP7 Calendars has got the ability to sync with multiple calendar accounts ( Exchange calendar, Google Calendar , Windows Live calendar ), you can color code each of these in any one of the available color. You can add appointments on the phone and that will get synced up to the calendar in the cloud. Tasks and subscribed calendars from a main calendar account are NOT supported ( at least not in the initial version ). Multiple calendars from a source will come through to WP7 but there is no way to say you want to only sync certain calendar and disable the other ( from a single source )

Now on to the detailed look at the stuff that is not present. Tasks it is pretty much straightforward, but what does multiple calendars and subscribed calendars from a main calendar account mean.

[ RUMOR ] Microsoft employees to get a WP7 phone

According to Charl Lee-Pearce, who is a Senior Marketing Manager Emerging Media at Microsoft , Microsoft employees to get a WP7 phone and this tweet was RT by Mary Jo Foley all now all tech blogs are posting about it.

Woot. Every single Microsoft employee will get a windows phone 7

Remember how Ballmer went crazy when he learned that Microsoft employees loved their iPhones. Now he plans to convert his 93,000 employees to WP7 users. We don’t know if this will be be a free giveaway to the employees. I am guessing the word of mouth WP7 will get ( which can go either way ) if they have a good product during release will pay for the cost involved in handing these devices out for free.

Now the question is will they be handing out the handset to their employees before the official release date ? Will they be the test subjects for WP7 before the actual launch. Will the employees be required to switch from other platforms ( read iPhone / Android, what about WM6.x ???? ). Anyhoo I have to keep an eye on ebay to see how many of them WP7 devices will land up there once they are handed out.
