Wobbler Windows Phone

Wobbler Windows Phone

Wobbler is an app that lets you add wobbly bits to images and use the accelerometer on the phone to get some wobbly action to the image. The user can take a photo of anyone or anything using the inbuilt camera or pick an image from the library then add the circular wobbly region overlays on the photo, then click on play preview. Now shaking the phone will cause anything in the chosen regions to wobble. Safe for Work Video below to see the app in action.

Cliff Simpkins, Product Manager for Windows Phone at Microsoft has posted this image which represents the Top 10k Paid Apps on Friday 18th May 2012. Now I don’t have the patience to check if there are 10k unique logos in there. But as a developer if you see your logo let us know the row and column number below ( in the comments ) . This being a paid app list our FREE 1800PocketPC App would not have made it in there.

Today we will be taking a look at what is new in the new version of Mehdoh one of my favorite windows phone twitter client. The update as expected keeps all the thing you love from the initial version and adds a lot of great new features. I will start off with one of the best feature ( IMHO ) Tweet Streaming : gone are the days you have to manually click refresh when you have streaming enabled tweets automatically come up on the time-line as they are posted. You have to enable this via settings and you can ask the app to by-pass the auto screen timeout so it stays on and can act as a dedicated twitter screen, see my set up below :). Just make sure you have it pugged in because it is quite power hungry.

Nokia-Logo

Nokia-Logo

Looks like the Lumia train is not running out of steam anytime soon. Bridgestone Australia has purchased 140 Lumia 800 smartphones for its staff. Granted it’s no huge number but approval from Australian Businesses will certainly help in getting more users aware of the Lumia brand. Bridgestone found Windows Phone to have better integration with Bridgestone’s existing suite of Microsoft products, like Office and Outlook, and its free turn-by-turn navigation sealed the deal for Nokia over its rivals like RIM and iPhone. According to Scott Baxte, IT manager for Bridgestone Australia

There was a strong business case for the Nokia Lumia 800. It gives us the best of both worlds — seamless integration with familiar business tools, such as Outlook, Internet Explorer, Word, Excel and PowerPoint, as well as exceptional design and build quality

we are hoping to see more businesses adopting the Lumia in the future. The soon to be launched Lumia 900 only strengthen Nokia’s position as a compelling business device.

Nokia Lumia sales have exceeded expectations

Lumia 900

Lumia 900

According to Ralph de la Vega, CEO of AT&T Mobility Nokia’s Lumia 900 has exceeded expectations and its great to see that kind of praise coming from the CEO of AT&T Mobility. Speaking at the JP Morgan technology conference, he had the following statement to make about the Lumia 900.

I am really pleased with what I am seeing out of Microsoft and Nokia coming out with their first product. The operating system works really well. It is simple, it is easy to use, it is intuitive.

The reception to the Lumia launch has actually exceeded our expectations. So we think there is a very good chance that Microsoft will have a very good OS that will be right in there with iOS and Android.

When they come out with Windows 8 in the fourth quarter, I think it will actually add to the value that that OS brings to the marketplace, in that that will be the first time that you can truly have a similar experience on your PC, on your tablet, and on your smartphone from soft Microsoft. From what I have seen and the previews that I have been given, I think it is going to be exceptionally good. I am very upbeat in what they are bringing to the market.
