I wrote an article earlier about Rafael Rivera’s 12 hour Hack-a-thon, it was my hope that he would succeed in his self made challenge, unforunately for us, he was not successful as yet, but has let us know the challenge timer may have expired but the task will still be worked on, perhaps by more individuals. I asked Rafael for a quote to add to the story and he said the following…
Rafael Rivera from Within Windows has set himself a 12 hour hack-athon to create an app backup tool for mango, for users that want to backup their app and game data, for use when you either swap handsets, or just keep their game data/settings safe. Rafael was inspired by the App-a-thon event which Microsoft ran at ASU for developers last Saturday.
If you live in the U.S. and own a Nokia Lumia 900, Lumia 800 or Lumia 710, you may have noticed that Microsoft has added the Nokia Collection to the category list, which contains the Nokia apps that come pre-loaded on your handset. The apps include, Nokia Drive, Nokia Maps, Nokia Music, ESPN etc, should you have to factory reset your handset, or are simply flashing a new ROM, you can redownload the Nokia apps from the marketplace.
‘Bing Vision’ was limited to USA for as long as its been a part of the OS. There was a work-around of switching your Location if you happened to lived outside the US, Until today it seems… Professor Thibault reported yesterday that France had ‘Bing Vision’.
The Nokia Lumia 900 makes it to Czech Republic with Obchod S Mobily having a Lumia 900 page up with an actual price. The OS mentioned on the page is standard Windows Phone 7.5 (Mango) and the site talks about the product specification in a bit detail. Some of the specs aren’t so accurate like USB Mass Storage Mode and internal memory but can be ingnored. Pricing has been finalized at 14955 CZK or 785 USD, certainly not cheap when we have rumors going around that the Lumia 900 is coming to the US for less than 100$ on ATT.
