I would like to wish a fond farewell to @BrandonWatson, the Director of developer experience at Microsoft, known to many developers during their plight of getting their apps certified. Brandon is headed to Amazon to head up the Kindle cross net platform team. Brandon’s position at Microsoft was never a permanent position but his departure will leave a big hole with big shoes to fill.
We recently reviewed Rune Legend on bestwp7games and now the developers have informed us they have been selected as a featured application for the Czech WP7 Marketplace and to celebrate this they are dropping the price to $1.99
I am not sure if this has existed before , if it has I have not seen it. When I jumped on to google search today I was presented with an option to pin google to the home screen. Its nothing fancy it offers a nice little icon instead of the screengrab of the google mobile site. I am not sure if its available worldwide , but you should get the option on google.com
I received an E-Mail today from a developer that was forced to create an app for the Windows Phone because Microsoft didn’t have a MarketPlace available in his home country of Slovakia. I’m happy the new program was sent to us to test and review and that Saijo assigned me the job to do the review, because I really love it, It’s called wAppStore and its available for PC and Windows Phone, it can be compaired with Microsoft’s own Marketplace, only with loads of excellent features.

I use the application for a wile, and I’m really impressed from all functions. It’s more like Android market – with all search functions and categories, and especially My Apps and Watch list. I use both Android and WP devices, and I dare say that the two markets are currently incompatible as functions – Android Market is more convenient in any way. So, I’m happy to see working and useful Marketplace replacement, and I’ll be glad to help you with redesigning it.
If you have some ideas this program to be even better – please feel free to share it for the next concept.
One of the things, that definitely need to be work on on Windows Phone 7 are the customization tools on the phone. Quick looks in enough to see that the only things to customize are the lock-screen wallpaper and some of the ringtones. So I made a concept app for WP7 that combine all customization tools in one application.
The team over at PocketNow, claim to have uncovered a video featuring Joe Belfiore, senior VP and Windows Phone manager, detailing Windows Phone 8 features and hardware specifications, intended for Nokia and their partners.
