AngelDeath from xda-dev have posted a new hack for the HTC Messaging Client. Running the cab will activate in “Traditional Mode” (inbox, sent, drafts in SMS) to limit how many msgs will load before it will pause and wait for you to tap on the more button for it to continue loading msgs. The Default is 500, but that number can easily be changed in the registry to any number from 1 to whatever number you feel is a good limit, be it 50, 100 etc. It will only work in the traditional mode and will NOT work in threaded/conversation mode yet.

It is no secret I love Google maps over Bing’s offering but I have to say Microsoft Street Slide looks amazing. According to Engadget Microsoft Street Slide is going to get an iPhone app , apparently its already in the works and it also looks like Microsoft will have a client for Windows Phone 7. We don’t think WM6.5 will be getting an client for WM6.5. Check out the demo video

OpenSource Authentication for WP7 : Sevenauth Project

by Saijo George on July 28, 2010

in News

The sevenauth project aims to make it simple to let WP7 app users authenticate using existing mechanisms, rather than having to remember yet another username and password. I am taking a stab in the dark and going to assume the app has plans to support Seven Authentication system. From the video demo from Arktronic ( who is no stranger around these parts, chances are you might have used his ArkSwitch App or seen the demo for his WP7 app ArkWords ) we can see 3 login methods supported

  • Google ( see developers comment below )
  • Yahoo
  • OpenID 2.0

I am thinking many app which requires users to sign in to access data might find this useful. Here is the video demo

Indie Artist Song finder on WP7 – video demo

by Saijo George on July 28, 2010

in News

During GDGT Seattle, Microsoft is giving away Windows Phone 7 handsets. That was not a typo they are in fact giving away WP7 Developer handsets. The 1st one went to a developer who is building a WP7 client ( he is also working on an Android client ) that will allow users to discover and stream Indie Music. Check out the video for more info.

The client looks quite basic and the developer claims to have made the app in a few hrs time.

Running Late WP7

Running Late WP7

Greg Sullivan, Senior Product Manager for Windows Phone over at Microsoft gives a gives a product tour of Windows Phone 7 on a Samsung Taylor to magnus.de (Weka Media Publishing GmbH, Germany). Fortunately for us they had a few video camera around and have captured the demo in full HD. so sit back and relax and watch the demo. Note they dont show anything new in the video, we have talked about most of those features, save one.

In the part where they talk about appointments , there is dedicated ” I am Late ” software button, that will let you send out an email / sms to the attendees telling them you are running in late for the appointment. Another scenario where we can say we don’t need an app for that. 3:20 in video 4

With HandyPaint you can use it to create your own paintings, or edit pictures taken from your device’s camera, you can even take a screenshot from your device and edit it. The app does have a lot of tools you can play around with. check out the review on BestWindowsMobileApps.com
