I would like to take a minute to introduce myself as a new contributor to 1800PocketPC.
First of all, my name is…let’s skip that for now. I am known (not sure about that, “listed”) as @wp7ap on the twittersphere, so the posts coming from me will bear that name.
A little bit about myself… I am very passionate, very passionate (yes! I typed that twice) about Microsoft in general and Windows Phones specifically. I have used Windows Mobile products since they were still a Pocket PCs. My first Windows Mobile product was a Dell Axim, do you remember that thing? The list of phones I’ve used are HTC 8125 (or something like that), HTC Fuze, HTC Tilt, HTC Tilt 2 (Touch Pro 2), Blackberry Pearl, the iPhone, and a Samsung Focus. Yes I’ve even used the iPhone and am currently using a Samsung Focus (Mangonized) and a iPhone 4 issued by work, although, in my opinion, the Windows Phone beats the iPhone in ease of use by a mile. That brings up what I would like to contribute to this site.

Windows Phone Problem
Preston Gralla from ComputerWorld has recently posted a new post titled ” Five things Microsoft can do to save Windows Phone 7 ” in which he talks about how Windows Phone failed to capture the consumer interest and how Microsoft can turn this around and save Windows Phone 7. Here is what he said and what I think about each of those 5 points.
Launch a better add campaign
Windows Phone 7 “Really?” ads are quite witty, quite well done, and send exactly the wrong message. They promise that if you get a Windows Phone 7, you’ll spend less time with your phone. But people don’t want to spend less time with their phones. They want to spend more time doing nifty things with them. Microsoft should launch a new ad campaign focusing on the Windows Phone 7′s niftest features.
I have to partly agree with that , Microsoft should get some cool new ads the Me Series, does not sell the phone , its more of an ad for the people involved .. While the official ads from Microsoft are not that great there have been some good ones from carriers , another carrier and fans. But they have done some things right eg: the product placements in TV shows.

UberMusic Android
No its not but it looks a lot like the real deal. UberMusic is a new music player for Android. The UI for the app is what many Windows Phone users will be familiar with coz it looks a lot like the stock Zune player on Windows Phone. It’s said Android does not have a good music player ( I haven’t uses an Android device so I cant comment on that ) but a developer Federico Carnale, has decided to fix this by porting Windows Phone 7′s music player UI to Android under the name of UberMusic and comes with a price tag of AU$3.18 .
