XnView

XnView v1.0 is a windows mobile software that helps you to manipulate image, you can correct your photos, share them with your friends and your family by sending them by e-mail. XnView Pocket makes it possible to you to realize slide shows particularly with the executable format readable by all.

Features:

Display in 5 input modes : Thumbnail, list, detail, Filmstrip et full screen.
Use of the favourites to simplify and accelerate the navigation through files.
Display informations, exifs and iptc of images.
Sorting of images by the name, the date, the type, the size and the definition, the whole in ascending or decreasing order.
Conversion of images between the different supported formats.
Resizing of images according to various factors, sizes, and possibility to resize to the screen size in order to obtain the best ratio weight/clearness.
Screen capture.
Association of image types with XnView Pocket possible and modifiable.
Slide Show mode with adjustment of time between the slides, of the background color. The transition effects are also usable in this mode, the display in landscape mode (allowing the display of the images while turning the Pocket PC of 90°, becoming into the screen proportions in adequacy with the proportions.
Sending of the images by email with change of size and format possible.

pocketpc-live.com has got their hands on Glofiish X900 and they have done a detailed review of the handset. Its got a 2.8″ VGA screen with a 533 MHz processor. 3.0 mega pixels Auto-Focus CMOS camera. One notable other feature they reported was the TV-out feature. Its got all bells n whistles including 2.5mm stereo headphone jack.

Microfi Nitrogen

Nitrogen is a full-featured pocket pc freeware MP3 player. With a friendly, easy-to-use interface, it allows you to browse among music using your finger. It uses the MAD decoder, which provides a high quality, lightweight MP3 playback.

Microfi Nitrogen is a native Windows Mobile application (unmanaged code) that allows you to play MP3 songs stored on your Pocket PC device. It features a file browser, full skin support, “Shuffle” and “Repeat” modes, a built-in sleep mode and a command to blank screen to prevent energy waste while playing music. Nitrogen uses the MAD decoder, which is opensource. As the official releases of MAD for Pocket PC seem to be discontinued, Nitrogen uses the libraries from an opensource player (GSPlayer).
Nitrogen was build due to the lack of finger-friendly players for Pocket PC (you have to use stylus even for simple tasks). It features large buttons and you can browse among your playlist by drawing circles on the screen (tapping in the appropriate space). In future releases the program will be expected to have an equalizer and other extensions support, but such things are still being tested to ensure stability and efficiency.

TouchLockPro v1.9 – lock/unlock application for pocket pc

TouchLockPro

TouchLockPro is an opensource windows mobile freeware designed not to interfere with running applications and is a multipurpose locking application. Other locking solutions are often specific for locking only incoming calls/SMS. A lot of locking solutions also place a (transparant looking) Window on top of the running application (e.g. slide 2 unlock), so the information of the background application is no longer visible. This is not the case for TouchLockPro, so it can be kept lean and mean. Also the used resources is very very low.

lock using the Power button, BattClock and/or Stylus Sensor
auto-unlock by the Light Sensor
unlock using triple touch of the Capacitive Sensor
unlock using Stylus Sensor
unlock when on AC/USB power

In regards to the IE6 post yesterday, now we have a video. Good ol Brandon from pocketnow.com has put up a video of IE6 Mobile for all of us who doesn’t own a Touch HD. He reports that IE6 has support for Flash and AJAX, plus has a much improved rendering engine but still recommends Skyfire or Opera

PocketNow.com is reporting that the new Omnia ROM update [ L1 & L2 ] will contain the Widget Manager that may of you all wanted and a lot of new widgets too ( the likes of Yahoo, CNN, AccuWeather, Stocks ). Though many developers are not active on the Omnia, the device has been hugely popular among the people and gradually developers were getting their applications updated to render properly on the unusual screen resolution offered on the device.
