One of the World’s first smartphones to include MasterCard’s PayPass Ready Certification : Nokia Lumia 610 NFC
Nokia Lumia 610 NFC is a variant of the Nokia Lumia 610 that will have the NFC support, the device is rumored to hit Orange UK later this year. MasterCard recently announced that Nokia Lumia 610 NFC will be one of the worlds first smartphones to include MasterCard’s PayPass Ready Certification. MasterCard PayPass Ready is now available to device manufacturers to use with NFC-enabled smartphones that have been tested and certified by MasterCard for use with PayPass technology. The MasterCard PayPass Ready identifier is a way for mobile device manufacturers to differentiate products that have undergone testing for MasterCard PayPass and received a Letter of Approval. It also promotes to consumers that the device will be capable of contactless payment transactions when enabled with a MasterCard PayPass account.

“Nokia is honored that the Nokia Lumia 610 NFC will be one the world’s first smartphones to include MasterCard’s PayPass Ready brand mark,”.. “This sends a clear message to operators, banks and other service providers that Nokia is able to quickly enable their payment services on this smartphone.”
One other Windows Phone with NFC support was the Samsung Mandel whose fate is not yet known.
