Official Windows 8 Release Preview Released
After some leaks of Windows 8 Release Preview, now the official build is out. The Release Preview is available for download in 14 languages.
Steven Sinofsky announced the arrival on Building Windows 8 blog. This is the final pre-release, and includes new Internet Explorer 10, new Windows 8 apps for connecting to Hotmail, SkyDrive, and Messenger (and many more), and hundreds of new and updated apps in the Windows Store.
Although Microsoft isn’t giving a release date for its Windows 8 operating system, the company dropped the strongest hints today that it will be ready for a possible October release. In the blog Steven Sinofsky said:
“Ultimately, our partners will determine when their PCs are available in market. If the feedback and telemetry on Windows 8 and Windows RT match our expectations, then we will enter the final phases of the RTM process in about 2 months. If we are successful in that, then we are tracking to our shared goal of having PCs with Windows 8 and Windows RT available for the holidays.”
According to Microsoft’s Steven Sinofsky, the focus in building Windows 8 RTM will be on ensuring that the platform can deliver a quality level above that of Windows 7. Hopefully we will see the RTM build in October.
