Batman fans are here for a treat from Nokia. You may remember that back in December Nokia launched Lumia 800 Dark Knight Rises limited edition handsets. Now Nokia is doing the same with Lumia 900 and will be launched in the coming weeks.

Nokia announced this on twitter:

Custom Lumia 900 straight from Gotham City https://twitpic.com/9q80ue ‪#Nokia‬ ‪#Lumia900

The Lumia 900 Batman Edition will be available only in black with a laser etched Batman logo on the back. The packaging will also be different from the regular ones very much like the pakaging of Lumia 800 Dark Knight Rises limited edition handsets. Well Nokia is doing a fine job by creating hype around its Lumia devices. We want efforts like this from other OEM’s too.

Now you know that the Batman does not use an Android or iPhone, he is all over Windows Phone. So if you are a die-hard fan of Batman then go and grab this limited edition Lumia 900 as soon as it is launched.

I like the batman thing but what about the HTC TITAN 2 I NEVER hear anything about it [Posted from the 1800PocketPC app]

Thats what I was saying in the post. Only Nokia is creating hype around its Windows Phone devices. Other OEM’s need to step up their promotion for their Windows Phonr devices. HTC promoted Titan in a big way, but I am seeing very less promotion of Titan 2. But things will surely get better with release of Windows Phone 8 this year.

It’s a good idea, but the execution took too long.

Nokia should have had this promotion ready *months* ago, not long after the first run of ‘limited edition’ Batman Lumias were sold. That way you capitalize on simple human nature — lots of people wanted those phones, but couldn’t afford one.

Now, this second run is so far behind all the initial excitement has worn off. Maybe Nokia were worried about backlash from big-spenders, but that’s easily handled by clearly differentiating between the two models via materials or appearance.
