Nimbus Notes : Voice Notes with reminders and SkyDrive backup

I love my OneNotes application for Windows Phone it lets me upload text and voice notes and sync it to my skydrive for easy access so I was not very keen to try out Nimbus Notes. Essentially it offers somewhat the same things but there are a few differences that might win some of you over. Nimbus Notes is a Voice Notes application that lets you set reminders for your voice notes and lest you backup these notes to SkyDrive.

The interface is quite simple , you launch in to the app and you are presented with 3 categories :

• General
• To Dos
• My Creative Ideas

You can go in to each of those and add voice notes in to that section , sadly you are not able to transfer notes between the categories or add new categories. With the recording you do have an option to select the quality via the settings. Once you have a recording you have the option to upload it to skydrive , and once it’s up there you get sharing options like sms, email. Probably the feature that most users might like about the app is the ability to add reminders for your voice note. One design issue I had with this feature is that once you set a reminder the app does not offer you the ability to edit the reminder unless you go back in to the home screen and delete the reminder from the note. The app does make use of the Mango feature which allows users to pin individual notes to the home screen.

That is a quick look at Nimbus Notes, if you want to add reminders for your voice notes this might be something worth looking at . There is no trial version available and the full version will set you back $2.99. But there is a free version here , I am not sure what the limitations are.
