Metro Style Business Card Template

In this post, I’ll talk how a thoughtful, well-designed business card can help you or your company to give a good first impression and send the right message. Remember that your business card’s primary function is for prospective and current clients to be able to access your contact information. The information you provide on the card is vital to how effective it will be. You must show more with less.

I believe the Metro Style can give you a great first impression – it’s modern and clean – put the information first. Currently I provide to you a completely editable PSD Photoshop file and the easy way to change the accent colour of the back tiles.

PSD file and ACO file – Download Archive (2.41MB)
Fonts, used in the template – Download Archive (250KB)

In the archive you will find a file, named Accent Color WP7.aco. You have to put this file in “C:\Users\your name\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS5\Presets\Color Swatches\”. Open the Photoshop and check the Swatches from the Window menu. Then load the Accent Color WP7.aco from the panel’s submenu. Now you can replace every colour with the accent with just one click. I made this swatch file according to the official 10 standard accent colors in Windows Phone – http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ff402557(v=vs.92).aspx

If you don’t use Photoshop, you can try the free Paint.net – you can open, edit and save PSD files – it’s like a mini Photoshop. But I recommend Photoshop because sometimes Paint.net has some issues when open PSD files, and sometimes are not open correctly and the layers structure it’s messy.

I'm a big fan of Metro user interface and Microsoft’s latest products, based on the new Metro style. I love Windows Phone, because of the complete new style – METRO. It’s modern and clean. It’s fast and in motion. It’s about content and typography, and it’s entirely authentic. Most of people know me by my MetroStation icons.

Nice. Personally i used the tiles concept on my business card as well but in an entirely different way.

I do think that the segoe UI Light font looks a lot better though.

Take a look at mine here:

Paint.Net is great. Obviously more lightweight than PS but I find it P.N faster & easier to use / more intuitive for day to day tasks. I’m a web developer not a designer & have used PS for at least 15 years. I simply don’t need 90% of PS functions. [Posted from the 1800PocketPC app]
