Is this a HTC Windows Phone 7 Spyshot ?

by Saijo George on July 26, 2010

in New Handset

HTC WP7

HTC WP7

According to Engadget this is a spyshot of a HTC device running a developers build of WP7. Specs include 3.7-inch SLCD and 1GHz Snapdragon processor and the three buttons under the screen are touch-sensitive à la Nexus One and the camera boasts 8 megapixels of memory retention. Any of you guys have any idea what this will be called ? Is it just me or is there no HTC Sense ( tile / hub / UI ) at all ?

I doubt Sense as we know it on WM6.x will be appearing on WP7 as Microsoft explicitly bans this… although it makes some sense for it to continue on Android.

In the Forbes interview, Bramford from HTC said “We won’t be able to replace as much of the core Windows Phone experience, but we will augment it.”

The operative word is “augment” and I would assume this means elements of “Sense” will be appear such as the weather app, the stocks apps, etc.

I am inclined to think HTC will offer some hub experience on its WP7 devices
