HTC HD7-concept

HTC HD7-concept

According to smarthouse.com.au

Taiwanese phone Company HTC who virtually dumped the manufacture of Windows Mobile phones in favour of Google Android based models is set to launch a new HD3 Windows Phone 7 in London on the 15th of September at a two hour function being held at the Hyatt Hotel.

One have to guess where they get their info from when they make claims like ..” HTC who virtually dumped the manufacture of Windows Mobile ” but we did know that HTC was planning an event for Sep 15th and with the rumored release date of October for WP7 ( in Europe ), it looks quite possible that HTC will unveils its HTC HD3 ( which could be called the HTC HD7 ( see why )

HTC HD7 Specs

Codenamed 6HTHD7XM, the device has a 4.5-inch AMOLED touchscreen (with a resolution of 1280×800 pixels), a dual core 1.5GHz ARM-based processor, 1GB RAM, 32GB storage, Wi-Fi, 4G, an 8-megapixel camera with two LED flashes, HDMI port and HD recording capabilities, a 1800mAh battery, all in a 10mm thick enclosure.

The device which when it goes on sale in Australia is tipped to be given to Telstra on an exclusive 3 month contract after the national carrier had a lot of success selling the power hungry HTC HD2 Windows Mobile based phone.

Does seem rather dubious as WindowsPhonw7 only supports 480 x 800 resolution at the moment..

Sounds like many peoples dream phone..

Good find .. BTW is that the only resolution supported for WP7 ? I think HVGA is also possible ( I not not 100% on it )

      • l3v5y

It will be possible, however the first wave of phones will be exclusively WVGA.

@l3v5y : Hey mate , how bad will be the multiple resolution effect developers ? I am thinking if the images are stretched or shrunk to fit the screen it will lose its intended glory. I think many devs will be put off by this fragmentation issue.

    1280×800 ?! As much as I want to believe it I can’t

@CrisRowlands – 800 x 480 is the *MINIMUM* chassis 1 specification, so theres nothing stopping handset manufacturers from releasing handsets with higher resolutions.

If you read through the various dev documents, you’ll ‘discover’ that *much* higher resolutions are supported than 800 x 480.

As long as it’s the same aspect ratio, I don’t see a problem, it should scale perfectly fine.

I wish the interface was as sexy as the one in the photo, i so hate the plain interface of windows phone 7, color is healthy, colored, buttons, nice graphics, this all is very important and sexy, attractive. Till this day, i wish that the interface we used to see was just a concept, and that the phone itself will be somewhere close to the photo above, if the OS was as the photo above, i would so purchase a winmo 7 phone as it comes out.

@Adel Ammari : the image used in this post is just a concept . HTC have said that its working on Sense for WP7 but I dont think there would be much change to the Home Screen, we might see a HTC Sense Hub with a live tile on the home screen. BTW are you working on any WP7 App ?

  • Haidar

It’s not real spec. it’s a dream of smarthouse.com.au , HTC will never release same device, it mean that they won’t sell any device else for long time, cause many people will buy it, and they won’t change it for long time

  • Todd Skelton

In order to keep the required aspect ratio it would have to be 768 x 1280. I would love to believe this info but I can’t
