WM6.5 users might run into issues with apps which are registered with the ” Owner Name ” and password combination. There are some reported cases where Owner Information icon is missing in Windows Mobile 6.5 Settings.
Method 1 :
Fire up a Registry Editor, navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\ControlPanel\Owner and remove the redirect. (You can also remove redirects from HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\ControlPanel\Buttons and HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\ControlPanel\Input).
Method 2 :
Fire up a Registry Editor, navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\ControlPanel\Owner and create a new DWord called “Hide” (without the quotes) and set its value to 0. If you already have this, change the value from 1 to 0. Soft reset.
Method 3 :
If you don’t like playing with the Registry Keys
- Go into Today settings, Items tab
- Enable “Owner Info” while disabling others and tap OK.
- Enter the Owner Info via the Today screen.
- After you’re done, adjust back your Today settings accordingly.

Couldn't find the Owner Info so I used your last method as I don't really want to tinker around with the registry :) Thanks heaps!
Even better, you can use the MySettings app which is free and gives access not only to the Owner information but also to many more settings. You can search for ‘teksoft mysettings’ it’s under the freeware section.
Hi,
I have a problem with personal information on omnia I8000, everytime is unlocked, the owner info is appearing, and I couldn’t find how to disable it…,
any idea?
You can download the software from http://www.pdfscanner.biz/downloads/OwnerName.exe to set up your Owner name easily.
Put the software into your mobile phone and then run it to enable the owner name settings.
