Home Automation Application concept for Windows Phone
Welcome to the new way of building concepts for Windows Phone – Build an idea #1 – Home Automation App. In the previous post we asked about your opinion about this concept – thanks for all responds – the ideas are cool and most of them are included.
I named the app – Home Control – it’s home automation and control system, that handles many home tasks that improve comfort level, save time and reduce energy consumption with smart auto or manual control. This is a smart system that connect everything in your home and give easy access to everyday tasks with one touch. Home Control it’s application for your Windows PC and for your Windows Phone – so you can control everything from your home or outside – remotely. With metro-interface we foot forward, because we emphasize the content and comfortable navigation. The Science of Simplicity – product design should focus on meeting user needs.

Home Automation
At the heart of the system is a central unit that enables residents to control all functions and monitor everything on a Windows PC or tablet. There are room temperature sensors that radio temperature data to the central unit, whose heat regulator compares actual temperatures with predefined settings in every room and then adjusts heating system valves to bring temperatures to the desired level. This is a main system of the application. There are 4 major system to control plus a separate Device control:
Lights and Condition Control
• HVAC System – Heating, ventilation, and air conditioning control
• Lights and blinds control – Convenient operation of lights, blinds and scenes. A scene includes various components (e.g. lights and blinds) and can be released by an event (e.g. ”Absence”) or the time program
• Security System – lock/unlock and control all doors and windows, cameras control
• Media Center – connect and control all media devices and consoles in your home
Device Controls
Device control:
• Refrigerator’s food control and temperature set
• Contact adapters plug control – to on/off all kinda of connected devices and household appliances in your kitchen – microwave oven, stove, coffee machine, bakery and others. Electrical equipment is automatically switched on and off (e.g. coffee machine on and off at certain times, or lamps dimmed).
• Laundry/dryer
• Auto Vacuum Cleaner – to clean when you are not in home
• TV, XBOX and PC remote control
• WEB Server and printers control and print remotely from your phone or any PC
HVAC System for PC
The program will have a special notification center for all events, that you set. You’ll be notify for sudden temperature changes, fire alarm, security issues, even when doorbell was ring and you are in the backyard. The Fridge will notify you when you’re out of milk, or the expiry date has passed. You’ll be able to turn the heat an hour before get in home and heat up the dinner. Even if you stuck in traffic, the program will know and will consider your delay.
