You guys might have noticed the new paint job on my Omnia 7, its a GelaSkins that I bought recently. It’s said to be a removable vinyl skins for protecting and customizing portable devices, but the way I see it it is more of a way to customize / personalize your device than the protection part of it and I have to say they look pretty :D
Starting from next week ( 14/08/2011 ) I am planning to give away one $25 GelaSkins Gift Certificates to one of you , we will pick one winner every Sunday ( that is right one winner every week till we decide to stop this contest ). Once we pick a winner we will get in touch with you and the winner will have to send us their email id and we will send one off the Gift Certificate to you.
So what do you need to do to Win one of these GelaSkins Gift Certificates ? You can enter in one of the following ways
- Twitter : Follow us on Twitter and retweet any of our post from 1800PocketPC.com or BestWP7Games.com during that week , just make sure the tweet contain the url to the post and mentions @1800PocketPC ( we track the tweets that mentions us ), each post you retweet gives you a chance to win. So the more you retweet the better your chances are

- Comment on the site: If you don’t use Twitter or Facebook you can still participate , all you have to do is post a valid comment on either 1800PocketPC.com or BestWP7Games.com during that week. Comments posted on this page will NOT count.
Unfortunately Facebooks T&C does not allow us to hold a contest in this way so this will not count as an entry. But we would appreciate it if you could like our posts on either one of those sites. Liking a post is very easy just click on the like button that will come up when you scroll down as page, add your comment and Post it to Facebook.
You can enter via Twitter and Comments if you choose to do so. We pick a random winner every Sunday ( Melbourne time ) from any one of the 2 method. We will announce the winner on Twitter and Facebook. It will be any random time on a Sunday. Once we pick a winner we will try and contact you ( Direct message for Twitter Winners, Email for comments ) if you don’t get back to us ( in 48 hrs ) we might pick a different winner.
You can participate from any part of the world, but GelaSkins might not ship to all location. Check if GelaSkins will ship to you.

I had a thought in the back of my mind when I was making that post that 1800pocketpc had some Australian association. Fantastic to hear that there is an Australian voice in the mobile tech blog space.
This site has presented some unique articles and insights that I have found WPCentral and even WMPoweruser linking to at times. Posts may not be as frequent as the other main WP7/Mobile blogs, but I find that is because it is less about just linking to news stories on other blogs, and more about well put togetheoriginalaanalysesys and opinion pieces.

Personally I hate just repeating what has been said on other sites, I get most of my wp7 news through following a number of sites on twitter and it annoys me when all of a sudden about 5 sites all post almost identical articles :|

That is mostly coz I just don’t get enough time to cover everything :( , trust me if I could I would :D ( but between my day job , blackOps and the new thing happening over at BestWP7Games.com I run out of time to cover all the news related to Windows Phone )
But we have new writers on board like Anthony ( wp7ap ) who would be adding new editorial / news item . Now I have to find some one who would be interested in covering the homebrew news on Windows Phone

I wanted to know, what happens when you stick the Gelaskin to the screen of your device, can you see the screen clearly or does that panda block your view?

You don’t stick anything to the screen. When you order your Gelaskin, they will send you a link to download the matching lock screen wallpaper.

I was just looking at these tonight. Great plan! However, I’ll probably have to buy another if my wish comes true and Verizon carries one of the Nokia WP7 devices coming out soon.

I have to say I’m kind of impressed. Played around with the Gelaskins site for 10 minutes or so, figure I’d try to win before I buy. If I win I’d be all over that like a fat mathematician on Pi.
