Free Audiobooks : Spreadsong audio books app for Windows Phone

The name of the app is a bit misleading , Free Audiobooks will cost you $1.99 for the full version and there is a feature limited trial that will let you try out the various features of the app before you decide if its worth the purchase. Spreadsong’s Free Audiobooks gives you access to 4,728 classic audiobooks including the likes of Bram Stoker’s Dracula, Herman Melville’s Moby-Dick and many more. Once you buy the app all the audio books offered by the app is available for free which is not bad if you like what they offer. Most if not all of the content comes from public domain and they have converted many of the literature in to audiobooks. The app offers a featured section where you will find featured books by the developers. Then you can go through individual genre or by authors, the handy search lets you easily find a book , but there is no advance search where you can go by just author names or titles .. the search is just a search by keyword. When you pick a book you can go through the description , and ratings( we are not sure the source of this ratings ) and choose to download it , the downloaded content is split by chapters so you can pick the chapters you want to listen to.

The built in player offers some handy features like 30 second rewind , an option to set a sleep timer ( min 5 mins to max 60 mins ) which will turn off the audio playback after the set time – a great feature to have especially if you are in the habit of falling asleep listening to an audiobook.
