Microsoft’s Charlie Kindel gave a small preview of apps on windows phone to CNET. Nothing major, but we do get a glimpse of a virtual spirit level app, there were some icons of a weather app and a flashlight app , but these are not demoed in the video
Scan this QRcode with Bing vision ( Hit the hardware Search button and click on the small icon that looks like an eye ) on your Phone to download the App to your phone.
Sadly I havent done anything with it before other than read into it a little. Its quite simple to make, so plenty of nice UIs will be popping up everywhere. Plus its kinda made in 2 parts, it uses Silverlight for the interface but normal code for the inner workings, like ive already been using.
Some time after MIX10 im going to start learning how to use Silverlight properly so I can make some basic apps in time for WP7's release, just because I can :P
Thats the idea I guess. It depends on what they say about the .net code undeneath. Silverlight is cross platform already, but up till now we have only been able to use the compact .net framework, which is a limited version of the full .net framework, leaving out a lot of the features.
If they say that we still have to use a compact framework of some sort, then either we will have to make platform dependent apps, or make apps for other platforms using a compact framework, which would just be weird and annoying.
Im hoping that they just let us use the full .net framework on WP7 :D

I like how this video points out that making apps is gonna involve using Silverlight for the main UI and .net for the inner workings :)
Which is a good thing. Silverlight, despite being “Microsoft's flash” it is a good platform for making great looking interfaces quite easily :D
Hi Cris
have you worked with silverlight before ?
