dotcompt releases Deepshining v5.1 'nokia love' ROM for HTC Mozart and others

Our friend dotcompt has released version 5.1 of his awesome Deepshining ROM, packed full of Nokia lovely-ness, like Camera Extras, Counters, Drive and more.

Warning! flashing roms may be cool, but when things go wrong (and they could) remember, we didn’t tell you to flash it!

I received an email today from dotcompt as i had been helping him with a few typo’s in his baked in apps and I was pleased to read his new Deepshining Mozart rom was ready for public release, I believe i was the first to flash it, and find the expired root tools issue (date related)

now ive re-installed all my apps (that i find usefull) and fully power cycled the battery once, and im happy to report i shall be sticking to this until i find another shinier rom to use, so on with the story…

I stupidly lost my trusty Omnia7 four weeks ago, and within 48 hours I had gone out to phones4u and parted with £110 (even though it should have been £80, the sales person couldnt access a required system), I like a few extra features i gained, like the notification led for missed calls, internal SDCard (upgradable to at least 32gb!) and the built in ‘hazel’ says the callers name when an incoming call is received, so not too upset as ive got a quality phone for very little outlay…

Then came my hunt for shiney things to do with my new tech… I built a Y-Cable, got an old rom (thanks ansar) to downgrade my bootloader to an exploitable one, so i could install HSPL (risky) which allows me to flash the thing…gold card (via xtc clip) and a few held breaths later it was running…

At first glance you can see the tweeks, new boot-up images, the OS is 8779 (currently unreleased) with 5.71 radio. Its nice to see dotcompt has changed fhe firmware version in the registry to read ‘Deepshining v5.1′ which no other rom cooker actually bothers with.

Included are customised deepshining ringtones, some of which i am using, custom sms alerts including Nokia’s sounds, custom email sounds.

There are loads of customisable options, themes are pimped to the nines too with total inverse options with 18 colours to choose as the base colours or the font colours. including ‘jil sanders’ deep blue for excellent power saving :-)

WiFi includes ‘Static IP’ and ‘Internet Sharing’. there are a few bugs with Nokia’s Camera Extras in the settings menu, it fails to load, but the actual functionality is not impeeded,just pop open the camera and hit settings for ‘smart group shot’, ‘action shot’, ‘panorama’ and ‘self timer’.

Included is ‘WP Extended’ by dotcompt, I believe only available in his custom roms, which offers multitudes of tweeks and hacks, like ‘Disable Key Vibration’, ‘Listen to FM Radio without headphones’ and extensive battery saver options for the power miser.

unfortunately Heathcliff’s WP7 Root Tools expired yesterday, but im sure it will be as easy as updating the app using the baked-in XAP handler when the update is released (if i missed the release i apologise) but a simple date change makes the app function until release.

folders creator, search key remap, attentive phone and sound enhancer is all baked into settings, along with Devstore8 v2.0.1(minus the typo’s i alerted him too)

The rom comes in 25 flavours (English, Czech, Danish, Greek, Finnish, Hungarian, Dutch, Norwegian, Polish, Russian, Swedish, Portuguese Brazil, Japanese, Korean, Indonesian, Melayu and Turkish), with a slimmer 9 flavour option if preferred (Portuguese, German, English, Spanish, Italian, French, Deutch, Russian and Chinese only)
