The folks over at Devslide have updated their sexy controls for Windows Mobile, bringing a bunch of fixes as well as another new control.
Read on to see what’s changed!
I was asked to review the brilliant SlideUI Controls & have been using them in my apps ever since. They are easy to use & make a huge amount of difference by helping you create intuitive, finger friendly user interfaces.
I must admit to not posting anything when they last updated the controls, as I was probably too busy playing with them. The main change in the last update was the addition of the UIPages control, which is a fancy version of the regular tabControl except it includes nice sliding transitions between the pages. I’ve ended up using this a lot in my more recent applications, including m8R & Saint.
Now they have added yet another control to the list; the UISpinner which is a “circular progress indicator “ meaning its like that ‘spinny thing’ you get on some programs, showing something is happening .
Here is a full list of updates:
UIButton
New properties for text alignment added (TextVerticalAlignment, TextHorizontalAlignment, TextPadding).
Automatic word wrapping added.UIList / UIListItem
Fixed issue with changing color scheme and applying custom color scheme colors in design-time.UIImageButton
Fixed issue when developer inserts UIImageButton inside of UICanvas which is already inserted into UIPages control, previously this generated run-time NullReferenceException.UIPictureBox
Fixed issue when developer inserts UIPictureBox inside of UIPanel and UIPanel is inserted inside of UICanvas (in this case UIPictureBox did not allow to slide content of UICanvas).
Fixed issue when in design-time user inserts a label with “Transparent” property set to TRUE, in this case the label was not allowing transparent background.UICanvas
UICanvas issue with scrolling on QVGA screen resolution fixed.
New property ‘ScrollBarAlwaysVisible’ added. This property allows to have the scroll bar always visible on the UICanvas (instead of only when user slides content).UIList
New property ‘ScrollBarAlwaysVisible’ added. This property is similar to the property added to UICanvas. It allows to have the scrollbar always visible (instead of only when user slides content of UIList).UIProgressBar
Issue with displaying progress value in ‘Marquee’ mode fixed.UIListItem
A new WordWrap property added which allows to wrap text inside of UIListItem with item style SingleText.
New property ‘IconPosition’ added. This property allows to position icon inside of UIListItem. The property supports the following positions: Left, Right, Top, Bottom.UIPages
Speed of initialization in run-time optimized for UIPages control.
OnSlide event added. It automatically rises and supplies sliding direction in event arguments when user performs finger movement across the UIPages control.UIMessageBoxPopup
Added ability to set opacity and color of the popup’s background.UIMessageBox
Previously height of UIMessageBox was static and if the message box window contained too much text, it could get truncated. In this release the issue has been fixed.UISpinner
New circular progress indicator control implemented.
To check the controls out & download a bunch of sample apps which demonstrate their use, head over to Devslide’s website.
The apps I have made using this is available on the XDA-Market.

This is an awesome toolset. Looks really slick, especially the new animated UIPanels.
Problem is, when a bug arises, if it is simple, they fix it. If it is difficult, they simply ignore you. I have pleaded and begged with them since Oct 2010 to fix a problem that a customer is experiencing (and will not go-live without the fix) and they do not even respond to emails/phone calls. One support guy said “2 weeks” from the beginning of Nov 2010 – now its Feb 2011 and *nothing* and that was the last I heard from them. I have been begging them to respond to my messages. I am now being threatened with legal action from my client – do you think they care enough to respond? Even if they said it will be another 6 weeks – that’s ok – I have something to tell the client. Now I am either going to court or face a complete rewrite of the app to remove their components.
Great tools – rubbish service and no respect for their clients.
Save your money. Go with Resco.Net – they are my next port of call.

i’m really sorry for what happened to you, they may have nice libraries, but they can’t bugfixe them, it’s a shame.
