Task Facade 3.7.7 - finger friendly application switcher

TaskFacade

TaskFacade

Task Facade, previously known as Dynamo 3, is a cool, animated task manager for your PocketPC 2003/05/06 device. Say goodbye to boring text lists of running programs and instead manage your programs by sliding in images of all your running applications onto your screen. For each program on your device an image is saved and when you click the hotkey they all zoom onto your screen. Simply click the one you want and it will increase to fill the screen. Quickly seeing all the running programs is far more efficient than having to read through a text-based task list so Task Facade can make task switching a much faster, and cooler, experience.

Task Facade also allows you to quit programs from inside the image view meaning that it does everything your old text-based program manager could do.

As well as just looking generally cooler, Task Facade offers far more customization than before and allows the whole application to be controlled using either your PDAs hardware keys or the stylus.

Start Menu service 1.6 - a different start menu experience

Start Menu

Start Menu

The Start Menu is just one more replacement for the standard menu found on windows mobile pocket pcs. The main difference is that it has been made as a service and so does not need to be launched on startup, it is done automatically, and it is not an extra exe, but a dll loaded by services.exe

Notice:
Change the settings folder name in the registry if the StartMenu\Settings folder has another name.
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Services\FdcStartMenu]
“SettingsFolderName”=”Settings”

For instance in French, it should be:
“SettingsFolderName”=”Paramètres”

Installation instructions:
Sometimes the setup of the cab file doesn’t install everything as it should. This could be solved by following the procedure described below.

1) Launch TaskMgr (TM) (TaskMgr)
2) From Menu->Actions select Register dll and browse \Windows directory and select ppcmenu.dll
3) Do a soft reset
4) Verify that it works after the reboot by clicking the start button only, not the “Start” text or whatever the translation is, if your device is not in English. This is done by purpose, so both menus (mine and default one) are accessible.

you can also verify, if the service has started, by launching TM and selecting the services Tab.

M2D App Launcher - finger friendly application launcher

M2D App Launcher

M2D App Launcher

If you have Manilla 2d installed on your device ( if you dont you can get it here ) then you can install this finger friendly application launcher called M2D App Launcher this replaces the folderview.exe in your \Windows directory.

Features:

1) Interface is very similar to M2D. It uses the graphics of your current M2D theme. If you change your theme, you can exit the app launcher and re-launch in order to effect the changes.

2) Navigation is very much similar to M2D. You can scroll up and down the list or drag-scroll the tab icon bar. The icons in the tab bar represents the folders of your Start Menu; the “Main” category represents links in the root of Programs folder. (Limitation: It only reads the folders under \Windows\Start Menu\Programs. Sub-folders are ignored.) You can alternatively use the D-Pad: Up and Down moves up and down the items; while, Left and Right moves through the folders.

3) It uses you current custom folder icons (icons.lnk). If you want to customize your folder icons, just do a search on how to do it. It has been discussed several times in the past. In order to customize the “Main” category (or Root of Start Menu\Programs), just drop an icon.lnk on your \Windows\Start Menu\Programs\ folder.

4) Should work on all resolutions
