Locking your device has been a must have feature of any mobile device. Its important just to avoid any incidence of accidental calling & receiving as well. Well I tend to loose the stylus quite easily , one more reason for me to look for finger friendly apps for windows mobile. I am sure there will be some guys out there like me who tend to misplace the stylus quite often. This freeware pocket PC application called NoStylusWarning is a simple app that will prevent you from loosing( it will give you a warning when stylus is not inserted in to its slot ) your pocket pc’s stylus.

• vibration for suspended device
• monitoring g-sensor to detect moving
• monitoring light sensor to detect stylus loosing in pocket/pouch

TouchLockPro is an opensource windows mobile freeware designed not to interfere with running applications and is a multipurpose locking application. Other locking solutions are often specific for locking only incoming calls/SMS. A lot of locking solutions also place a (transparant looking) Window on top of the running application (e.g. slide 2 unlock), so the information of the background application is no longer visible. This is not the case for TouchLockPro, so it can be kept lean and mean. Also the used resources is very very low.

• lock using the Power button, BattClock and/or Stylus Sensor
• auto-unlock by the Light Sensor
• unlock using triple touch of the Capacitive Sensor
• unlock using Stylus Sensor

After Koushik Dutta posted the Stylus Sensor API new applications exploiting these features were going to surface @ xda-dev it was just a matter of time and here is one of the first Stylus Sensor application by ZuinigeRijder. Its a lock / unlock utility for devices like HTC Touch Pro / Diamond. Its got a bit of a learning curve than the other lock application.

How to use:
* Choose your “stylus lock mode”, by using the method above
- e.g. if you want to put the TD in your pocket, enable “stylus lock mode”
- e.g. if you have your TD lying on the table, disable “stylus lock mode”
- e.g. you can also use always the “stylus lock mode” when your are fine to take out the stylus for unlocking (you do not need to operate the Power button anymore)
