Nektra Contact Manager is a finger friendly contact manager specifically designed for busy people who need to manage a huge number of contacts. It’s still a beta and only supports QVGA devices (soon to be more resolutions)

Features:

* Finger friendly controls
* List controls provide a smooth scroll
* Contacts can be grouped by Company or by Groups (touching the bottom tab Contacts button you can switch the views)
* Sms list
* Phone calls (touching the bottom tab Calls button you can switch calls views: Incoming, Outgoing, Lost, All)
* Keyboard for contacts fast search (press ‘Undock’ button)
* Favorites can be accessed in iPhone way
* Scroll with the finger or using the right side scrollbar to go to a certain place
* Contact photo display
* Send SMS / MMS to multiple-recipients (select contacts touching them until they are selected and then choose menu option ‘Send SMS / MMS’)

Mobile Vikings is a relatively new mobile operator in Belgium. They offer free mobile internet and a lot of innovative features. More information on their website.

You can use this pocket pc software to easily check the status of your account on a Windows Mobile. Applications for other platforms are available as well (see this blog post for an overview).

Balance: See your credit, how many free text messages and how much free data (internet) you’ve got left and the validity date of your data/SMS pack.
Call history: Shows a history of all your calls, messages and data use. This works together with to Pocket Outlook address book to show the name of the sender or caller instead of just a phone number.
Top-up history: Want to know how much you spend on your phone? No problem, just take a look at your top-up history.

This application is availlable in Dutch, French and English.

iContact is an all-inclusive finger-friendly contact manager for Windows Mobile PocketPC phones. It’s easily skinnable, intuitive, and replaces the standard Windows Mobile contact chooser. Translations are available for over 25 languages. iContact supports true VGA skins but also will support any screen size! The default skin has a diamond-like look and feel; other skins are available on the skins page of the developer’s site. iContact settings can be found in the Windows Mobile system settings menu. The latest version fixes a few bugs and also adds a couple features. Now WM6.5 users can choose to “create shortcut” for a contact and their buddy’s picture will now show up in the start menu.

LnkMe 1.0 – create SMS and call shortcuts in just a few steps on Windows Mobile

LnkMe 1.0

Manually creating shortcut files for SMS and call sending for specific contacts requires using a text editor (in PPC and PC). Then you have to manually type text codes and memorizethe phone number for that particular contact. Not to mention repeating the same procedure again and again for each contact.

There is a solution. LnkMe is a simple application to automate all of this. The shortcut files created will allow you to automatically create a new SMS for a particular person or make a call to a person, depending on what lnk file you chose to create.
