XChange R8 v1.2 currency convertor

XChange R8

XChange R8

Xchange R8 is a simple currency convertor. You can choose 3 currencies to be displayed and for the time being you have two WebServices available: Bank of Romania and Bank of England. Bank of England currency are accessed via the Export Technologies WebService. The author is willing to add other WebServices to the list if you can provide him with their address.

You need of course an Internet connection. For Bank of Romania you can choose to see the currencies as they were at a certain date. Before you ask, chosing a date in the future will alas not work. The Export Technologies service does not have this function though, and when working with the Bank of England this choice will be unavailable. The program remembers the last downloaded values for each service. Please note that the Export Technologies service (for Bank of England) is slow – an update can take up to a minute. Bank of Hungary does not update the service daily. Therefore, after you press Download, you may see a different date than today appearing at the top: this is the date of the last update. Furthermore, because of this, when you use the calendar to choose a date, you may get the message “No data available for the chosen date!”. Simply choose another date. Hint: they don’t update during weekends.

GController v0.03 - simulate key press with the accelerometer

GController

GController

This is a little application that will simulate key presses (on the D-pad) or scroll while you tilt your device. It will soon be usable in many games (e.g. racing games where it isn’t really great to use the D-Pad). It is actually usable with a lot of desktop-softwares, like Manila, etc…

Here is some info on the settings:

Application name:
This is where you introduce the application’s name (the one which appears on the top of the window)
Tilt key: Which key the software simulates when you tilt your device to the left. The tilt side never changes, even if you rotate your device. It is based on when you hold your device in portrait mode flat down.
Tilt sensivity: this is a number (between 0 and 100) setting the tilting minimal for the action to be sent. The more you’re close to 0, the more sensitive it will be. If you set it to 100, it will never trigger.
Interval: the interval at which keys are pressed. This means that if you set it too low, while tilting your device, a lot of keys will be sent. It is calculated in milliseconds. So if you set it to 1000, when you tilt your device, it will simulate 1 press per second, per key. Setting it low enough is useful for games.
