YouRang is an amazing little app that turns any audio from your favorite YouTube video in to a ringtone on your Windows Phone. The app is super easy to use : when you launch it you are given the option to search for a video, then you load it in tot he app. Pick the start and end point for your ringtone , you can preview it and then click on the create button and the app does its magic and give you a ringtone that you can save to your phone and set as your ringtone all from the comforts of the app. Check it out in action below

One feature many users wanted once we got the custom ringtones feature in Windows Phone Mango was the ability to add custom SMS tones , there was a way to get this done by a registry edit but now thanks to the effort of Windows Phone developer djfoxer and his app MyRingtone2SMS there is an easy way to get custom ringtones on your Windows Phone. You will need a fully Unlocked device or you can use Windows Phone Root Tools to give the MyRingtone2SMS app Trusted status.

Want some classic Nintendo Games Ringtones on Windows Phone ? Shagware has released an app called Nintendo Ringtones that does just that. This app caught our attention after a tweet from Ben Rudolph. It lists various Ringtones from classic games like Contra 2, Final Fantasy, TMNT, Zelda, Megaman, and many more ( of course Mario is in there .. just in case you were wondering ). The application is quite easy to figure out you can preview the tone and then add it as a ringtone straight from the app .. as easy as pie. Now does the developer have the rights to put these music as ringtones I am not sure but the app has been approved by Microsoft as is available for download for FREE , I am not sure if it will last long so grab it as quickly as you can.

In the recently released Windows Phone 7 emulator there were some new WP7 ringtones and SMS tones and Anudeep from xda-dev has apparently extracted those tones for us to use on WM6.x devices like the HTC HD2. So if you are a fan of these check them out here. ( via Mobility Digest )

MortRing

After installation (ZIP file contains both PC setup and CAB for PPC installation) an icon showing a small cell phone will appear in the tray (lower right corner of the Today screen). If you tap it, a menu will open, which contains entries to open the configuration dialogs. The “SMS filter” allows you to search the sender or message text for given words, and play a special sound and/or even run a program if the search text is contained. The “play internally” options usually only make sense if you disable the system sound, and only WAV files are supported currently. The sense of this feature is compatibility with tools like phoneAlarm, which only supports one single SMS signal and ignores the one MortRing sets, or devices which ignore the registry modifications of MortRing. Sadly, the ringtone modification doesn’t work on every device. Esp. if there are lots of contacts and you’re using a pre-WM5 device, there’s a quite high risk of not working.

Here is a cool little tip to get Video Ringtones on your windows mobile device

• Just register on http://www.vringo.com by providing your own mobile number with country code.
• Download the application from http://mobile.vringo.com.
• Install it to your desired location,either on storage card or on device memory
• Login once using your account details,then from the third menu(find vringos) select any one of the online provided videos to set as your videotone.
• Buddie-list-you can also set different video ringtones for different callers by creating a buddie-list and adding your personal contacts.
• If anyone wants to have their own made videos to be set as videotone,then convert the whole video(max 30 secs) to .3gp format,rename it to pre_vringo & copy it to my device/application data/vringo.overwrite the previous file & restart the application.
