The Straits Times is an English-language daily broadsheet newspaper based in Singapore. The app is developed by Apps Lah and is an unofficial client for Straits Times. The app has got a metro UI look to it. The app needs .NET CF3.5

Many of us would have see cartoon characters counting sheep to fall asleep. Does this really work ? Now you can try it with a new app by RDT from xda-developers. Anyhoo I was surprised to find a wiki article about this. Kudos to Mobility Digest for the find.

According to the developer the idea, presumably, is to induce boredom while occupying the mind with something simple, repetitive, and rhythmic, all of which are known to help humans sleep. When you go to sleep with the application, be sure to plug in the charger. Application will run until the morning (then you will see how many sheep you have counted ). To exit, press the right top corner.

This is a freeware application brought to you by JDB Pocketware. Free to use with full functionality, but will show an advertisement after closing the app. To get rid of the advertisement you can get the paid version which costs $1.49

Russian roulette is a deadly game of chance in which participants place a single round in a revolver, spin the cylinder, place the muzzle against their head and pull the trigger. As the name suggests the origin of this game was in Russia and I am sure many of you would have seen some form of this in some movie or the other. Now this is not something that most of us would want to try out but now there is a safe way to try it out !! Check out NDRouletta , with the new version there has been some visual improvement over the older version.

I wish the developer could have added more graphics for the various guns in the app. There are 15 weapons to choose from. The app is in Russian ( i think ) , but it seems to be fairly easy to use despite the language. The animations in the app seems to be new to this version. The version I downloaded says version 1.5 but after installation I saw that the about screen says v 2.0. It might be a bit hard to find the download on the dev’s page, see the image after the break for more info.

Look how has decided to show up on a WM6.5 Screen near you ?? Its Neko.. say who ? Well Neko is an animated cursor-chasing cat screenmate application. Neko was originally written for the NEC PC-9801 but since it was an open source project it has made an appearance on devices like the PC, iPhone, etc. He is a bit late to show up on WM6.5 but we are happy that he decided to show up… who is to thank for this ? Nullstring from xda-developers was behind the WM6.5 port.

Once you launch the app Neko shows up on the screen and he is quite an active kitty. So, what does Neko do?
- since there is no ball (of string) Neko is happy to chase your finger
- and while Neko is not doing anything, Neko does different things
– Run in different direction
– Yawn
– scratch
– sleep
– lick

WMuVuZelAs brings the vuvuzela or a stadium horn for windows phone. The app was developed by Corwin9S from xda-developers.

Use:
1. for sound, clic on main picture
2. by clicking again on the main picture, volume will increase (rounding)
3. for options, clic the ball. You will have the choice over 4 vuvuzelas sounds and to set (or not) the soft in fullscreen
4. to leave, hit the red card

Resolutions: WQVGA (240*400) and all upper (autoredim), but should fit with lower resolutions too

Successfully tested on: i900, HTC HD2

Who doesn’t like to play a prank on their mates once in a while ? Thanks to the effort of Corwin9S from xda-developers its all too easy for us to pull of a practical joke on our friends. Its kind related to the iBroke iPhone app. The app is in French , future versions might include an English translation. iBrokeWM is optimized for WQVGA (240*400) , might work on other resolutions as well

Configuration / Compatibility:

You can launch the app from Start Menu >> Programs >> iBrokeWM. if not, you will find the .exe in the installation folder of the software:

- Options_iBrokeWM.exe = allows you to set the image to display for the break as the parameters of WM6.1, WM6.5 or of WM6.5.3, define also the time for display, then save the settings for direct launch

- iBrokeWM.exe = You can directly launch the application, within the parameters defined previously

Parameters by default: picture of WM6.1 Parameters for 30 seconds

Here is a new app store for windows phone. We have seem many different apps store for windows mobile other the years past months. Is AmmApp any different ? Frankly I am not sure I haven’t given this a shot yet. It looks like a Russian app store but they have an English section for the site. There is no web catalog of the apps ( at least not yet ). From the screenshots it looks like the app is in English. I am not sure of what payment gateway they use for buying apps. If any of you folks have tried this appstore before do let us know about your impressions on using the app. The usual features like sorting by category, searching by name, rating for apps in catalog , etc seems to be present.
