So don’t forget to go in and enable the apps in these new market and don’t forget some of these counties might have stricter policy concerning the content available through your app. If you have any questions MSicc and Cris could try and give you some tips.
With close to 70,000 apps on the marketplace its no easy task to get noticed on the marketplace. But what if Microsoft / Nokia showcased your app in one of their Advertising Campaign ?? I am sure the developers in here would love to get such an opportunity for your apps / games , Luckily for you they are looking for innovative Windows Phone 7.5 apps to feature in their ads. They have 2 more campaigns one in May Campaign for which the deadline falls on March 31, 2012 and another one in June where the deadline falls on April 30, 2012.
It would seem that the Windows Phone marketplace just crossed the 70,000 mark ( including the inactive ones ), recently we saw that they reached around 60,000 in Jan. The number of apps have certainly been growing and a lot of the premium titles have been coming across to windows phone but a lot of crApps have also made their way across. Sadly this game is all about numbers ( quantity over quality ) and will still continue to be so. Stats via mwp7applist.com
For me the total number of apps that I really care about would be around 50 or so what about you folks ? Does this app fall in to that list ?
The download from Windows Phone Marketplace has gone some change over time , initially we have the colourful download buttons available in multiple colours with he text ” for Windows Phone 7 ” and with the release of the web marketplace and with the name change from Windows Phone 7 to just Windows Phone we saw a chance which made the official download button in a single colour with the text ” Download for Windows Phone ” which was a good move IMHO , it represents a more unified logo for Windows Phone and now there is a new one where they have tweaked the colours and have thrown in Windows logo which looks nice and all but I am not a big fan of them changing the download button every so often .. and one has to wonder if they will replace this one with the new one perhaps with the new windows 8 logo which people seem to like better than the old one. What do you guys think ?
Nokia has pushed out another app for their users this time its an image editor called Creative Studio. It would seem that you will also be able to shoot panorama images using your Lumia devices with this app, its said the app makes use of the inbuilt compass to achieve this. According to MTW
Creative studio is somewhat reminiscent of Samsung’s FunShot Windows Phone application which was released last year. Both feature live effects in the viewfinder and other goodies (cropping, sharpening, exopsure etc..) but Nokia’s application is miles better in terms of overall usage and workflow though. Nokia Creative Studio is also fully integrated with the OS so you can simply browse your Picture Hub select an image and then open it in the app from there. Just hit the marketplace to try it out now and hit the break for more pictures.
Perhaps Gary can share his thoughts on the app in here if you guys have any questions .
Draw Something offers turn-based gameplay that allows you to draw stuff and send them to your mates and they have to guess what you have painted on the canvas. It keeps going as long they can continue to guess each others’ drawings correctly. The game is going viral and is already at the top spots on iPhone and Android but sadly there is no Windows Phone version yet.
There is a petition going on on get satisfaction and an official rep from omgpop has stopped by and mentioned
If there’s a high demand for it, then we’ll definitely try to make one.
So get voting people :) and let us get this beauty on Windows Phone.
Microsoft is informing owners of the Windows Mobile 6.x OS via email, Windows Mobile 6.x Marketplace will be discountinued May 9th, 2012. This is Microsoft’s first real public seperation from the Windows Mobile platform. As the older platform has begun to fade away, more accurate data has been able to be collected for Windows Phone. Up until recently most data collectors combined the Windows Mobile and Windows Phone operating systems into to one group when describing Microsoft’s mobile market share. Read past the break to learn of the changes.
I have discovered there is going to be the first WP7 DLC add on pack for the game ‘Zombies!!!’ headed to the Marketplace within the next few months. No price has yet been uncovered as Microsoft has yet to officially announce the add on pack. The DLC will come with an extra 5 achievements totalling 50 achievement points. The achievements don’t give much away as to the nature of the DLC, only that there will be a meat cleaver and a shotgun included in the content.
