Avid readers of 1800pocketpc.com will remember our developer interview with the creator of wAppStore when he launched a new version of his App Store on desktop and WP7. Bazaar has now released their desktop version for homebrew apps and i must say it looks very much like itunes with the scrolling icons.

We wrote about dotcompt a month ago when he released his v7 custom rom for HTC, his latest release v7.2 has a nice addition of DS Supertool and an updated DS Marketplace.

The changelog for his new release shows he has also removed a few apps;

1. Deepshining Supertool released
. user interface clean and smooth like DS Marketplace
. access your connectivity shortcuts faster and easier
. set you favorites contacts and call them with just a simple tap
. easly find your location weather and news
. create fast notes and reminders in a single place
. updateble app (you´ll know when a new version is available with no need to flash a new Rom again.
2. Deepshining Marketplace updated to v1.2.0
. added Orientationlock from Jaxbot at windowsphonehacker.com
. added new wallpapers to the wallpapers section
. removed Solitaire Game (warez), sorry about that.
. cleaned and revised some line codes
3. Removed some apps to make DS Rom as light as possible

DFT Custom rom on Samsung Omnia7

I told you about dotcompt releases Deepshining custom rom for HTC HD7 earlier and I happened upon a thread over on XDA-Devs which spoke of Team DFT’s custom rom for the Samsung Omnia7. It looks like it is nearing completion as its in the ‘testing’ phase (or beta testing). I saw a post from a tester of the rom and the above pic was attached to his small comment…

8107 on Omnia 7

Following the news of update 8107 being reserved for carriers that request it, I was a little frustrated to say the least,I wanted to find a work-around and in my search I found this thread on xda-dev that listed the download locations to the official update files on Microsoft’s servers, and I remembered that xboxmod & YukiXDA had released a WP Update Cab Sender batch file that uses the WPUpdate.exe file that Zune updates your phone with, so here’s a tutorial that will enable you to update your phone to the latest version (7.10.8107) with a few clicks.

It seems that Khaled Salameh has discovered a bug with Windows Phone that could cause serious problem for Windows Phone users. Its is not know if this affect all Windows Phone users at this stage but winrumors does test this out on a Samsung and HTC device and it would seem both of them are affected by the bug, the effect of which causes Windows Phone to reboot and disables the message hub and it’s said that the user will not be able to open up the messaging hub unless they do a hard reset. All it takes is a SMS to be sent to Windows Phone ( using a specific set of text ).

Thankfully Khaled Salameh and WinRumors have not made this particular info public and its a good thing , imagine the trouble if something like this were made public.
