Carbon

Mehdoh is a great twitter client but with the developer stating they have discontinued further development many of us were looking for alternatives ( apparently that is not the case ) and Carbon seemed like a good option , but the client was delayed for quite some time. But now its finally avilable for download from the marketplace , sadly there is no trial version available ( there are rumors a trial version might be coming out with the next update ), jump past the break for screenshots and download link. Press release below

Developed by dots & lines

Twitter experience for your digital Metro life. Simple, unique, and yet feature rich. Kitchen sink included!

All of Twitter on one screen. No need to tap many buttons to reach to desired timelines. Apart from your all day timelines, Lists, Saved Searches, Retweets, all accessible through a unique timeline called Quick Line.

Images right on the Timeline, if you choose to enable it! Get a full view of images without even leaving the Timeline.

Double tap on a tweet to start a quick reply without leaving the timeline that you’re skimming through. Access your profile right from the home screen and check out your stats and favorites without even going to a new screen.

Oh, and tiles! Compose Tile, pin this beautiful tile on your phone’s home screen and start tweeting in seconds without having to open the whole application. You can do the same with a Search Tile. Live tiles too! So you don’t miss any of your mentions or messages notifications. And if we add more tiles, we’ll be starting a flooring business.

We’ve got you covered in Multi Account support, Read Later, Image Upload, Custom URL shortening, Threaded Direct Messages and image & video Previews right in the app.

And, Push Notifications are coming soon, real soon!

Just to point out (as the developer of Mehdoh) that it hasn’t stopped development, and you know this ;-)

Good to see Carbon come to market though!

That is odd , I remember seeing some mention of discontinued development on your blog or mehdoh.com .. but am glad that is not the case :)

I did come across that , but for some reason I think I saw another post which said the development has been discontinued again ..

Currently Mehdoh is my twitter client of choice , I haven’t tried carbon yet ..perhaps some time next month

I’m glad Mehdoh is still being supported. I use it as my primary Twitter client. I did purchase Carbon and it would fill a Mehdohless gap, but I think its UI is bland and the app does lag on my screen. The lack of notifications at this point is a drawback as well. I think Mehdoh has a more pleasant feel and look and the app is fluid. Notifications from Twitter is a necessity and Mehdoh covers that as well. Thank you Chris, awesome app!

I have to amend my statement about Carbon. I got an update 2 days ago and hadn’t thought to search out every goodie, I did like the addition of quickline. However after posting earlier, I thought I should look at my settings a little more thoroughly. There it was as the bottom now, “Enable Background Updates” with options for Messages and/or Mentions Live Tile notification.
Definitely helps Carbon’s app but I still prefer Mehdoh, it just looks, feels, and runs better.
