Bee Mobile Metropolis released for Windows Phone Developers

Bee Mobile Metropolis

Bee Mobile Metropolis

Bee Mobile has announced the launch of a new product for WP7 developers – Bee Mobile Metropolis. It currently contains 3 Silverlight components which according to the devs implement progressive ideas:

BookControl - create a GUI in which users can flip through pages of a book.
RegionControl - create clickable and highlightable regions of arbitrary size and shape.
WaitingBar – let the users wait with style.

BookControl

BookControl

BookControl is a Silverlight component designed for Windows Phone 7 platform which you can use to create a book effect. Let your users experience the usage of your application as if they were flipping pages through a book. The whole GUI can follow this philosophy thanks to BookControl. BookControl is useful for

  • displaying a series of photographs
  • creation of company catalogue for product demonstration
  • creation of step-by-step wizards where each step is presented on one page
  • creation of series of inter-connected pages of input forms

RegionControl

RegionControl

RegionControl - Create sensitive regions which will be automatically highlighted whenever the user taps them. The regions can be of any shape and color. RegionControl is very useful for creation of country pickers, district pickers and any kind of pickers where a certain region should be picked. Let the users pick the country from a RegionControl instead of e.g., ComboBox and take their experience into more intuitive level. No coding is required. You simply provide three images:

  • Normal Image – is displayed by RegionControl.
  • Selected Image – defines how the selected region is displayed.
  • Image Mask – defines the regions.

WaitingBar

WaitingBar

WaitingBar is a visual indicator which informs the user of a lengthy background operation. Displaying WaitingBar is a common job for the developer so that the users know that the application did not freeze.

The devs have informed us MVPs can get their products for free and they also provides 50% discounts for students, you can get in touch with them here. If you have some ideas what kind of controls would be very useful for developers feel free to get in touch with the devs, they have informed us they are looking fwd to feedbacks and recommendations from developers.

Trial version is absolutely free of charge and you can use it for 30 days. They have a sale going on at the moment and the pricing starts from 99.95 €. Full pricing info here

Terrible! Both, BookControl and WaitingBar ar absolutely NOT Metro styled! This is not how a WP7 user expects apps to look like… :(

      Hi,

You can easily configure Waitingbar to have a WP7 design without graqdient background.
If you check HTC’s applications or MS Office for WP7 they also contains nice effects.
