Our friend dotcompt has e-mailed us a few days ago, to inform us of his latest rom available on XDA-Devs, the rom is for the HTC HD7, but by no means is it finished yet, the rom is based on a recently leaked Nokia Lumia 710 with a OS version number 7.10.8835.35, however the administrators of XDA-Devs have removed the rom from their site the same day as it contained ‘identifiable information’ which was against the forum’s rules.
Warning! flashing roms may be cool, but when things go wrong (and they could) remember, we didn’t tell you to flash it!
I received an email today from dotcompt as i had been helping him with a few typo’s in his baked in apps and I was pleased to read his new Deepshining Mozart rom was ready for public release, I believe i was the first to flash it, and find the expired root tools issue (date related)
now ive re-installed all my apps (that i find usefull) and fully power cycled the battery once, and im happy to report i shall be sticking to this until i find another shinier rom to use, so on with the story…
We reported last month of the upcoming release of Just Dance 3 Autodance by Ubisoft, We are proud to announce the wait is over and the app has finally reached the Marketplace so you can all check it out for yourself.
We managed to get our hands on a preview copy of the upcoming Windows Phone 7 game by Ubisoft,Just Dance 3 Autodance
I managed to find the following press release online…
Over 1m million downloads to date and hundreds of 5 star reviews! (on other OS’s)
Everyone is Autodancing; from grannies to dogs, from builders to toddlers. See why, download the app today, it’s totally free.
I received a Nokia Luna BH-220 bluetooth headset from the fine people at mobilefun.co.uk, to write an in-depth review on and I have been using it on my two Windows Phones, the Samsung Omnia 7 and the Nokia Lumia 800, for a little over two weeks now and I must say it has surpassed all of my expectations by a considerable margin.
I decided not to write an article based on facts, figures or its sleek good looks, instead I decided to write an article about how easy the headset is to live with, after all that’s what’s important to us all at the end of the day.
An hour after I had opened the box, the headset was fully charged using the enclosed AC-16X superfast 1 amp charger and bundled CA-169 thick usb lead, (the same charger that you will find inside the Lumia 800 box.)
There is a convenient led on the top of the holder that shows the charging status of the headset, that changes from red when its charging, to green, indicating that the headset is fully charged and ready to go.
Sony (was SonyEricsson) has been reported to be in development of a Windows Phone for a while now and it appears the rumours are true as a prototype SonyEricsson Windows Phone has appeared on good old eBay.
Yesterday the Lumia 610 manual was released online via FCC.gov and the guys over at engadget have spotted a new feature that dates back to the Finnish companies Symbian S60v5 devices such as the Nokia 6710 Navigator.
The Finns at Nokia have started rolling out their latest firmware for the Lumia 800 that addresses several bugs; primarily their third attempt at fixing the battery bug that has plagued many Lumia 800 owners, a camera mode change from Macro back to Normal which gives crisper close-up photos, Camera white balance has been looked at, the shutter sound option has been removed and there has been an audio fix which is claimed to give better bass when using headphones. Nokia have also updated the ‘on-device diagnostics tool’ which now has omissions in the Battery Status area. The update has been reported to still have a few bugs remaining, for example, if your volume is set to 10/30 and you plug the phone into the mains to charge, the phone beeps at full volume.
Jaxbot from WindowsPhoneHacker has released a new homebrew app for rooted Windows Phone handsets, that means custom roms such as dotcompt’s rom for HTC HD7 or DFT’s roms for HTC and Samsung Omnia7/Focus
Once installed the app changes your lockscreen background to a choice of either Bing’s daily image or a selection of your photo’s from your various Facebook and SkyDrive albums. If you select Bing backgrounds the change happens once Bing’s image is updated. If you choose your own photo’s you must pick each photo individually, then the app will change them every 30 minutes or so by using a background task.
I have discovered there is going to be the first WP7 DLC add on pack for the game ‘Zombies!!!’ headed to the Marketplace within the next few months. No price has yet been uncovered as Microsoft has yet to officially announce the add on pack. The DLC will come with an extra 5 achievements totalling 50 achievement points. The achievements don’t give much away as to the nature of the DLC, only that there will be a meat cleaver and a shotgun included in the content.
If you have just got back from a pole to pole expedition with Bear Grills, you would have a good excuse to have never heard about the #smokedbywindowsphone promotion Microsoft have been running since CES, for the rest of you that dont know what #smokedbywindowsphone is, I can only ask you this one question… “Where have you been hiding for the last few months???”
Microsoft have taken their hugely popular ‘Smoked By Windows Phone’ to the attendee’s of MWC2012 in Barcelona winning 90% of the challenges in their first day alone.
Nokia are tipped to be announcing two Windows Phones at MWC2012, they are also streaming the event live from their website nokia.com/mwc. The whole one hour presentation will be aired at 8:30am Central European Time / 7:30am GMT in the UK (2:30am EST New York) hosted by Nokia’s CEO Stephen Elop.
PocketNow have leaked pictures of the, as yet unannounced, entry level Lumia 610 mobile phone from Nokia. The budget handset is rumored to have a 3 MegaPixel camera and a tiny 3.2″ screen with an interchangable rear panel, much like the bigger Lumia 710. No other details have yet been leaked so we will only have to wait a little while longer.
We reported a few weeks back of Gerbil Physics was being ported to Windows Phone, The guys over at WPCentral have had an exclusive sneak peek of the upcoming game, and I must admit it looks a lot like its Indie big brother on the Xbox360 live arcade title by the same name.
Nokia have posted some witty video’s of T-Mobile customers that ordered their Nokia Lumia 800 on the web having their new mobile phone delivered.

The Dark Forces Team (DFT) who are better known for custom roms for HTC and Samsung, have released a bluetooth file transfer app for fully unlocked devices, the app only works on my Omnia7 with the DFT Rainbow rom as my Lumia 800 is only Chevron unlocked it wont install the necessary drivers.
We covered an article recently when folders had an update which allowed on device creation, Today Jaxbot from WindowsPhoneHacker has posted a new video for his homebrew app Folders for fully unlocked or devices running Custom roms.
