September 22, 2012 | bAN01TgAZ 16
Our friend dotcompt has e-mailed us a few days ago, to inform us of his latest rom available on XDA-Devs, the rom is for the HTC HD7, but by no means is it finished yet, the rom is based on a recently leaked Nokia Lumia 710 with a OS version number 7.10.8835.35, however the administrators of XDA-Devs have removed the rom from their site the same day as it contained ‘identifiable information’ which was against the forum’s rules. Why are app developers waiting for Windows8 before committing to Windows Phone?
April 14, 2012 | bAN01TgAZ 7 It has to be said I am a huge F1 fan and I love to watch it in HD on the BBC with 5.1 surround sound, one laptop with the BBC driver tracker, the tablet with McLaren’s pitwall and the FIA live timing, I used the Symbian formula one app on my Nokia 6710 Navigator last year which is now unfortunately discontinued. I hit the net and did some research to find a solution and what I was able to find was this Formula1 Live Timing web page that works on the WP7Read More

Living with the Nokia Luna Headset
March 10, 2012 | bAN01TgAZ 7I received a Nokia Luna BH-220 bluetooth headset from the fine people at mobilefun.co.uk, to write an in-depth review on and I have been using it on my two Windows Phones, the Samsung Omnia 7 and the Nokia Lumia 800, for a little over two weeks now and I must say it has surpassed all of my expectations by a considerable margin.
I decided not to write an article based on facts, figures or its sleek good looks, instead I decided to write an article about how easy the headset is to live with, after all that’s what’s important to us all at the end of the day.
An hour after I had opened the box, the headset was fully charged using the enclosed AC-16X superfast 1 amp charger and bundled CA-169 thick usb lead, (the same charger that you will find inside the Lumia 800 box.)
There is a convenient led on the top of the holder that shows the charging status of the headset, that changes from red when its charging, to green, indicating that the headset is fully charged and ready to go. Read More

Lumia 800 owners in Singapore start receiving 12070 firmware update via Zune
March 8, 2012 | bAN01TgAZThe Finns at Nokia have started rolling out their latest firmware for the Lumia 800 that addresses several bugs; primarily their third attempt at fixing the battery bug that has plagued many Lumia 800 owners, a camera mode change from Macro back to Normal which gives crisper close-up photos, Camera white balance has been looked at, the shutter sound option has been removed and there has been an audio fix which is claimed to give better bass when using headphones. Nokia have also updated the ‘on-device diagnostics tool’ which now has omissions in the Battery Status area. The update has been reported to still have a few bugs remaining, for example, if your volume is set to 10/30 and you plug the phone into the mains to charge, the phone beeps at full volume.
Dynamic Background for rooted Windows Phones [Homebrew]
March 7, 2012 | bAN01TgAZJaxbot from WindowsPhoneHacker has released a new homebrew app for rooted Windows Phone handsets, that means custom roms such as dotcompt’s rom for HTC HD7 or DFT’s roms for HTC and Samsung Omnia7/Focus
Once installed the app changes your lockscreen background to a choice of either Bing’s daily image or a selection of your photo’s from your various Facebook and SkyDrive albums. If you select Bing backgrounds the change happens once Bing’s image is updated. If you choose your own photo’s you must pick each photo individually, then the app will change them every 30 minutes or so by using a background task.
