Acer Allegro
Hope you guys remember the Acer W4 we talked about in the past. Well turns out that renamed the Acer Allegro, (W4 still being the codename) the phone is ready for a launch in France.
Acer Allegro White
Coming out in two colors White and Black, the Acer Allegro is the first Windows Phone to have the magical Fast Charge Technology which makes the phone charge 2.5 times faster when connected to an Acer PC or Laptop. Wonder if Lenovo has similar plans for its upcoming Windows Phone devices.
The phone is not on top of the specs with them being:
- Dimensions of 11.6 x 5.9 x 13mm
- Weight 126g
- LCD 3.6-inch WVGA (480×800)
- Qualcomm MSM8255 processor 1Ghz
- Storage capacity of 8GB
- 5 megapixel camera with LED flash
- 1300mAh battery with autonomy of 6 hours talk time
- Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR
- Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n
- Various sensors (accelerometer, proximity sensor, light sensor, accounts)
- A-GPS
The phone will be sold for € 299 in France, available in November.

It’s not that bad looking for a low end device something that you could toss over to the kids or grandparents. I think it looks better than the Nokia 710 But! then you have to count in Nokia apps and Maps would be a deal breaker. Acer amde a very good looking low end device it will appeal to people who want a good device without all the fancy specs. I think this type of a device will do well and it’s really what WP7 needs to do get a lot of good low end devices out. the more people that use the OS the better it will be for everyone in the long run because it will spur the OEM’S to come up with some better designs for WP7.
