a new wave of WP7.8 custom rom's available

WP7.8 running on the HTC Mozart

Our friend dotcompt has e-mailed us a few days ago, to inform us of his latest rom available on XDA-Devs, the rom is for the HTC HD7, but by no means is it finished yet, the rom is based on a recently leaked Nokia Lumia 710 with a OS version number 7.10.8835.35, however the administrators of XDA-Devs have removed the rom from their site the same day as it contained ‘identifiable information’ which was against the forum’s rules.

As the thread has been deleted from public view we don’t know exactly what identifiable information was in the rom, but what we do know is that WP7.8 is in the hands of the ‘chefs’ and today there are many available for handsets that have custom bootloaders,

Samsung Omnia 7
Samsung Focus
HTC Titan
HTC Mozart
HTC Trophy
HTC HD7
Nokia Lumia 720 710

I am going to create a HTC Mozart Samsung Omnia 7 (same procedure for focus) flashing tutorial as I have received a few requests for a tutorial, so you can try it for yourself.

I’m just waiting for the Mozart rom (v1.1) to finish downloading as there are a few bug fixes in the newer release and will probably be more stable.

They always create a new phone screen but forget to teach us how we can protect our eyes from these screens (http://bit.ly/screenprotect). In other case this phone is awesome and well designed.

can you do a samsung focus rev 1.3 flashing tutorial too please

    • bAN01TgAZ

I plan to create a tutorial for the Omnia7, the procedure is exactly the same for both Omnia&Focus…

      1. save .txt file of apps u want to reinstall (not essential)
      2. downgrade phone to velnerable bootloader (if required)
      3. install MAGLDR (focus/omnia7) or HSPL/RSPL (HTC)
      4. install WP7.8 rom to your device
      5. format device to prevent fragmented memory issues
      6. install apps

      enjoy!

Hi, I’ve just read the article and I saw the list of those device with custom bootloaders.
I was wondering, since the Lg E900 in not nominated, isn’t there any way to creat and flash tho optimus 7 with any custom ROM?
Will there be a custom ROM even for the device I said in the line before? Thanks for replying!

you may need to wait for a chef to port the rom.
