We have seen many new features in the new Mango update for Windows Phone and now we have official confirmation ( via WMPU ) that Microsoft has added over 500 new features to Windows Phone in the Mango Update. We don’t have to wait long for this, all will be unveiled tomorrow :) we have listed what features we know are coming after the break
These are the features we know of ( some of these are based on rumors )
- Bing Vision – This would let you search for items using the camera – through barcodes, QR Codes, Microsoft Tags, Books, CDs, DVDs and even text using OCR.
- Bing Audio – Lets you search for music using the Bing search engine. Apparently, it would let you search for music by holding the phone up to a song to recognize it – just like Shazam
- Turn-by-turn Navigation – The name says it – voice guidance during driving
- On Device Podcast Support – podcast on your Phone !!
- SMS Dictation – Voice to text on your SMS application using Microsoft’s TellMe service by clicking the little microphone at the bottom of the screen.

- Contacts grouping – group messaging will be a core feature
- Office 365 integration – Office 365 features built-in
- Lockscreen can be set to the currently playing album art.

- Windows Live Messenger / Facebook Chat / AOL Messenger integration – Integrated into the people hub and messaging hub
- Outlook Conversation View / Outlook email server search – thread view for email and search email from server via the app
- Lync Messaging Client – Enterprise messaging client
- Twitter – Tweets integration into people hub
- Visual Voicemail - Visual voicemail will be a core feature on WP 7.5
- Network awareness NCSI support – improvements for switching between networks/optimization
- Support for access to hidden corporate Wi-Fi networks
- Fast application resume
- Multitasking support – switch quickly between apps ( video )
- East Asian Language keyboard support – additional language support
- Handwriting and dictionary support
- Zune Smart DJ
- Camera shutter sound toggle
- Improved Bluetooth support
Could we see
- Internet Explorer 9 mobile with HTML5 support
- Unified inbox for email
- real multiplayer games on xBox live ?

What do you mean by “could we see internet explore 9. That was already confirm countless of time.
I don’t think they have said it will be a part of mango. It was rumored to come as an independent update to IE Mobile.
No, IE9 and HTML5 was confirmed and shown off many times. At MIX11 too.
No IE9 was talked about many of time as part of mango. Mix 2011 was a big confirm.
