leo001 from MoDaCo has managed to extract Swype Input Keyboard from the Omnia 2 ( props to Pocketnow for the find ). Once you get used to this , you will love to use this keyboard. Its much more fun and faster to input text on your device.

From their finding it looks like the app works on GSM Omnia II, HTC Pure, Touch Pro2, etc.

Catherine, I have used both applications and my suggestion is to have both installed on your phone. I use both for certain applications because each is useful in its own way. Skyfire tends to be a bit complicated when trying to just do some simple “mobile” website tasks. Thats simply because it is made to view the full internet on your mobile device. Opera is a great addition for me to use for those mentioned sites that do not navigate so simply on Skyfire. Sometimes simplicity overpowers logic but, I do certainly think that Skyfire is by far an amazing tool. Opera has yet to do it justice for the “full” internet experience. Good luck and I hope you make the wisest choice for yourself.

Experienced some “glitches” with Swype on my HD2. Sometimes when changing between the Swype and standard keyboards the keyboard dissapears altogether in all programs and I have to soft reset.

I never had this problem before I upgraded to the latest 1.48 rom so this could possibly be something else causing my problem. Anyone else experience this?

Have checked a variety of Omnia related sites recently, and although many include info on the SWYPE variant for our device, access to same is denied, as the actual author(s) of the program are upset that someone thought it was to be considered “freeware”, and have asked that access to the actual program be stopped and the cab files pulled. Seems they are opting to sell the program – for around $10 a pop. Not bad for worthy software, if you ask me. Some of us have it from downloading some time ago (back when we didn't know it was cobbed without consent). I checked yesterday (as I thought the notice suggested that there was an update), and got a 404 page notice.
