A short description about the developers experience….

With the upcoming release of Windows Mobile 6.5 and Windows Marketplace I was as eager and excited as any mobile developer would to start promoting my applications through Microsoft.
After reading all of Microsoft’s requirements on their website http://developer.windowsmobile.com/Help.aspx I decided to give it a shot. The registration process was fairly painless by simply creating a Live ID and filling in the standard required information for User Profile and Business Details. At this point to complete the registration you have to pay $99 annual fee by using a credit card. Microsoft took no time to charge the credit card and I patiently waited to be contacted with further details. The only email I had received at this time was an email with my order number. Microsoft was supposed to send me an email with requirements for verification through GeoTrust. After two weeks of waiting with no response I started to browse though forums to find that quite a few people had the same issue. I contacted GeoTrust and they worked with me to acquire the necessary information and get me verified. At this time Microsoft finally sent me the email about verification (after the fact). After my account was activated I was able to submit my application. The only piece of information left to fill out was the financial information such as Bank Account of where you would like to get paid, but I was unable to find where I could possibly enter that. Sometime mid September Microsoft seemed to have made some changes and now Bank information is accessible via Payee Information section on the Account Tab.
