Unlock The Security On The Samsung Jack

According to PocketNow.com The Samsung Jack is having limited access to users to fiddle with the registry and even limitations to installing some of the most common third party software is not supported. What were they thinking we are not in iPhone land here, in the land of Windows Mobile we dont like hardware manufactures restricting the users like this and thanks to Mobility Minded we have a fix to remove this restrictions.

• The first step of removing the security limitations is to download the ClearSecurity file.
• Next, connect the Samsung Jack to the computer and move the file to the device through ActiveSync.
• Install ClearSecurity and launch Microsoft’s Security Configuration Manager.
• Select Security Off from the drop down menu and click the Provision button, the program will install a file called Tool.
• Run a registry editor program like Total Commander and delete the file ForceCellConnection from: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE>Comm>InternetSharing>Settings.

I've done this on Windows Vista 32bit, and got no errors.

I can't get the Device Security Manager to work. I open it and it pops up an error has occurred. I am using Window7 64bit. Does anyone know how to fix this? And is this all I have to do to get Garmin mobile xt to work on this phone?

Chatting with a friend this week, I was asking him about a gps app that works fine without using cellphone's data pack, and he told me that he uses NDrive, and that this app needs no phone connection.
I'll install it and try using only gps phone's hardware. After testing, I'll post here the results.

Hi you have to delete the Reg Key ForceCellConnection from: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE>Comm>InternetSharing>Settings in the Registry

Wich file are talking about? You need to delete no files!!! You just need to delete a key from regedit's cellphone. Take care to not delete the wrong key!
Waiting for response if you could have it done.

The directions described here serve for differente purposes. In my opinion, it is to unlock phone's 2-tier security system. Doing this, you can have access to many functions and install many apps on your PDA.
BUT, to do this, you have to follow the steps described below the video.
A hint: first of all, download all files you will need onto your PC.
Answer me a question: what do you want to do?

i follow the step but i don understend what file i have to delete. i want to install a program to autohang up the phone after a 4.5 minutes is the minute beep,

It will teach you what Regedit is used for.
When you finish reading, you'll check that you have to delete an ENTRY KEY from PDA's Windows Mobile Regedit app.
Wich is your native language? I'm thinking that you're brazilian one, or kinda of. If easier for you, I'm brazilian and I can explain you in portuguese.

Well, for Facebook you don't need to install any program. You just have to point the phone browser's app to Facebook's link and it will reconize that you're accessing through a cellphone and it will show you the proper login fields.
Note that you'll need an Internet conection through cellphone to use this.
About downloading videos I believe you need no extra program: you need to find a proper weblink to do this.
Try doing this to download videos, even 'cause I don't know how the i637 works. I have a Samsung Jack. If you don't get it working the way I told you upside, create another topic here, and someone may help you properly.

Hey folks, I`ve posted here in a few weeks ago to thank the author of this article.
But I need help on how to use my internal GPS without using my data pack. I`ve got the new Samsung Jack, and I`ve bought it in Brazil (I`m a brazilian).
So, does anyone know any good and compatible app to use with the internal GPS (without using data pack).

Would I still need an "unlock" code to use an overseas carrier?

If your phone is locked then yes, you need to unlock the device before you can use other carrier ( including international ) SIM

Man, thanks a lot. I'm from Brazil, and I haven't found out any articles about this phone model - Samsung is selling the "Jack" model in Brazil as "OmniaPro B7320".
This howto really helped me a lot!!! I was looking for something to unlock the GPS built in hw, and I've found many apps, but any of them could be installed due security permissions. With these simple steps I could unlock my phone.
Now it's 03:30am and I have no way how to test the GPS without the operator's net. But as soon as I do it, I come here to tell.

i can't run security config manager... everytime i try to run it, the program just shuts down saying window error. i have ran as admin and also uninstalled and reinstalled again. anyone else having the same problem?

Yes, I have the same issue, I don't kow if it is because I am using Windows Vista or why, Thepocketnow guy should help us with this, I believe is a common issue.
