  • Total Commander is my favorite, It feels like using Norton Commander in DOS time.
  • Ravicai
Again, I need to nominate Remote Touch - http://t2remotetouch.blogspot.com/

It's an awesome freeware app that allows you to connect to your PC remotely. It was recently updated to allow multiple profiles, so now I can connect to my laptop remotely too. This program rocks! Way better alternative to 'logmein'.

I think most of the software is fantastic and it is so har to pick just one nut I have to go with Mobilematt TF3D I think the 3 that I have tried are just wonderful.

My favorite has got to be PocketCM Keyboard. I simply cannot live without it. With the default windows mobile keyboards (and even the nice looking HTC ones), inputting text is a PAIN. That's why the first thing I do when I hard reset my phone is install PCM Keyboard and the htctoucher's skins. The word completion and ease of use make this a killer app.

I too must nominate A_C and his S2* apps. S2U2 makes using touch flo 3d a much better experience on the Touch Pro/Diamond devices. By default TF3d just doesn't do an adequate job of providing information on upcoming appointments and active alerts; a problem solved by the impressively convenient lock screen of S2U2. Beyond that S2P is a decent music app alone, but it's integration into the lock screen makes it an exceptional one, I very much like how you can set it to automatically open/close based on when a stereo headset (wired or bluetooth) is connected.

Mortscript anyone? Freeware. Makes scripting tasks and custom functions of so many different programs work. It allows "non-programmer" types like me to be able to make my phone work the way I want it to.

I would have to nominate Amit Regev and the guys over at SBSH. I have used one or more of their quality applications throught my 8 years of owning a Windows Mobile Device. I have owned and used Pocket/Contact Breeze, iLauncher, PocketWeather, PhoneWeaver, and now finally Touch Calendar. The quality and workmanship of their applications is top notch and they are consistently supporting and improving their products moreso than any other commerical software developer that I am aware of.

I also give much kudos to A_C and his S2U2 application which is the first app I see each time I turn on my device.

  • Michael Beam
I love S2U2 because i have a HTC Pro and if I get a text message my phone wakes up and programs on my touch screen can get launced. i also like the features; it will display different clocks, the weather, and ant task i have up and coming. Over all I would have to say this is my favorire program
  • I second caolang's nomination: S2U2 of A_C
  • Bigsniperboy
My favorite freeware would have to be ageye's G-Alarm. It is a very reliable alarm with multitude of options. All of it is finger friendly and has an amazing GUI. I trust my college and my job on that program :)

    Thanks

I use a lot of freeware as well as buyware, but the best Free that I have used would have to be Bronenos' MiniMonth.

The clock looks good (IMO), and the calendar to its right is useful, which can link to PocketOutlook Calendar, and its own event database.

But best of all, time updates immediately when you return to the today page, unlike some other today plug-ins (it also has seconds).
  • I have to say Dot Fred's Pocket PC PIM backup.

Has helped tremendously in backing up PIM info (such as contacts, messages, calendar entries and tasks).
  • caolang
My favourite freeware is the application S2U2 of A_C. Firstly, it has a tremendous GUI. Although it is based on iPhone lock application and I think there is no reason to turn a WM phone into a look-like iPhone, the GUI is still good. You can change wall paper, customize everything you want. In addition, it shows the time, date and most important, some appointments on screen, which is very useful when you are a busy person. Secondly, i love its funtionality. The default locking application of WM is too awful and inconvenient to use. So that is my vote: S2U2 of A_C
  • Hmm tough one. I'm not sure if I can pick just one. I use wktask http://soft.photoracer.net/docs/wktask_en.html All the time. Best task manager period. Then there is homescreen++, A great today plugin. And another great today plug in is Today Agenda. My vote would have to go to wktask. And I'd be all for giving the whole $50 to the developers.
