The good folks over @ xda-dev has done it again, the Omnia Today Screen can be put on to any touchscreen device running Windows Mobile.

Install Instructions:

Install AdobeFlashLite 2.1
Install Samsung Omnia SMPlayer/Touch Player
Install Opera 9
Install Samsung Omnia Today Plugins
Put your pictures into \\My Documents\\My Pictures folder on your device (not storage card)
For Kaiser/Other device with screen height 320 Install SJ GrandP_320.cab and Install SJ DCINOBAR.cab to remove the taskbar.

The cab also will create some shortcuts on Programs\Omnia Goodies. One of them is Contents Manager/Media Album, it’s better than HTC album. Notes: SMPlayer/Touch Player currently can only play 3gp video (maybe few other format too)

If any of you have problems with starting widget today plugin, extract the attached file to your \windows folder and all of your problems will be gone. Also this file solves the issues of running the SmPlayer LsOmaClient.zip

OK guy, I've installed all the stuffs above and activated the Samsung today plugin, but all I can get is a surprised today screen with some funny icons and a digital clock. It is far different from the screen in the movie. Please tell me how can I get a screen with drag and drop like the movie?

Did u follow the instructions for install posted above , which version of Opera 9 are u using ? Did u install the AdobeFlashLite 2.1 posted in this thread ?

I installed Opera 9.0 which is posted in xda-devel. And I also installed Adobe flashlite 2.1.
And I followed the instruction strictly step by step, including copy the LsOmaClient.dll to /windows.
And still don't have the drag n drop screen :((

In that movie they start the "Samsung widget" today item and it does not appear in my today setting after i have installed as the instruction says. I only got "Samsung today 1" and "samsung today 2" and those two cannot bring the drag n drop interface :((

try extracting all of the files on to the Windows folder, that seems to have resolved the issue for some people.

If it sill dosent work , let me know which ROM you are running and the make and model of your device

@ wei : just follow the install instructions as given in the main post, make sure you extract the contents to the /Windows folder

Oh man, it turns out that you have to install the Flashlite of Omnia, I remove the Flashlite installed and reinstall the attached one, and it works.

Well i put all the files in the phone and its in there i have samsung today 2 in my item list and the goodies file is in it also and is still wont work i think im missing something but i think it will work

If you have the older version of these application like opera , Flash lite u have to removed those and install the version posted on this page.

I''m using htc touch, all file is already instal to device but i still can't find "samsung widget" in my today menu.

i follow all the requirements but i cant see in my today item samsung widgets only samsung plugin 1 and 2 are shown any one help

I have installed this things and all seems to work on my htc wizard, but i can not get widgets and today work together. or dont know how to switch between them, if i have item samsung widget, i get error after selection samsung today that somethings are incompatible with widget or something like that. please help how to get both work together (widget and today theme icons etc.)

If you are having Issue with widget extract the content of LsOmaClient.zip to your \windows folder

it works great
but im having a touch dimaond and i cant access or even see my /windows directory from my computer.. when i connect it in ''syncing'' mode
i can see the folder in the device but when i try to copy the lsomaclient.dll it wont let me copy in
how do i get around this?

I think the Diamond has an option to plugin the device and use it as an USB storage device. I think when this happens u might not be able to see the /Windows folder. You might be able to access this location from your PocketPC using an explorer then copy that dll from the folder u copied to the /Windows folder

I hard reset my i780 and reloaded, but now the display is only 3/4 of the screen. The UI doesn't fill the whole screen. Doesn't display fullscreen. What can i do?

Same issue here with samsung i780, the Today display is not displayed in fullscreen, but in 3/4 of the screen, the widgets are working fine in full screen, no issues with that. My my samsung i780 is running WM 6.1, updated it last week.

Listen I still can't seem to sort it out, have numarous problems. Screen still not full screen, activating the digital viewer still turns the screen...Need assistance urgently. Please. I like the theme very much but i need to get it working on my device please. i780 Samsung.

just installed on HTC TOUCH PRO and the widget apears a quarter of a size.

it seems to be that this widget was done for a screen with less resolution.

does anyone has a fix for this?

Use winrar ( http://www.rarlab.com/ ) and extract the content from the rar file. ( on pc )

or use RAR for PocketPC: http://www.1800pocketpc.com/2008/07/02/winrar-3...

and extract the content directly on your device

Hey all, I have this working on my xv6800 my only real question is how do I make it not beep or click or whatever you want to call it every time i touch the sidebar or a widget...kind of annoying can't find a way to mute it without muting other important features of my phone.

i was able to install the flashlite and the palyer but when i try and install plugin 1 and 2 it gets about halfway and then just stops and says unsuccessfu. using a htc touch witht he 6.1 rom

i have a problem with the sony ericsson x1
the plugins runs very good but i a very small place on my screen .... it doesn't fit all the screen

i installed everything on my atom-v and it worked fine, a few widget cannot be executed but i guess it's because i have'nt copy-paste the LsOmaClient.zip
on my windows folder.
the thing is i cannot turn off this omnia home screen, and therefore cannot copy-paste the LsOmaClient.zip
because the file is still in use.
please advice how to temporarily disable the omnia look so i can copy-paste the LsOmaClient.zip??

@gita : Try this

From the Today Screen:
1. Go to SETTINGS
2. Select TODAY icon
3. Select ITEMS tab (at the bottom)
4. UNCHECK the "Omnia" item(s)
5. Click OK and go back to the Today Screen
6.Reboot
