The 1800PocketPC app - Next Level concept

The 1800PocketPC app V3.2 was just updated and here is some ideas and proposals for the next version. I very like the 1800Pocket PC app, but there are always ways to improve.

What do you think about new icon :)

I like the menu hub and the new Metro live tiles. I think under the tiles to have only twitter, facebook and settings. The settings tab will combine the current settings, contacts, about and achievements. I think that way will be more compact and in order. I also made some rearrange of the news – there will be 3 main views – main (with several recent articles), more (with older articles) and selected article view – I suggest this will be applicable for all categories, not only for news.

The next part is for the games reviews – I suggest here to be more juice. Also I suggest all links to youtube, gallery and others to be in the menu part, not in the main page – it’s more clean. But then is need possibility to read whole or part of the articles inside the app – not only to view pictures or video. Also in the article preview I think the Mail option is unnecessarily button and can be added to share menu – share via twitter, FB, mail, Windows live, etc.

It’s will be nice to have possibility to favourite items (account related). If some of the ideas are applicable, will be happy to see them. You can give suggestions in the future, and possibly the author will include them.

It’s fast and in motion. It’s about content and typography, and it’s entirely authentic. Most of people know me by my MetroStation icons.

I gotta say, Im impressed, theres some pretty good ideas here.

Personally I like the icon, but weve only just change the site logo, so it would be too soon to do so again. (Plus from the comments, it seems people like the current one)

I like the home page layout, it definitely looks a lot more informative than the current one. The only problem is the fontsize on the news tab, thats waaaay too small to be seen, so instead that would have to be in a larger font, but limit it to a smaller number of characters (at the moment, the app limits it to 150)

The game review page layout is great. Using the background image is a fine idea, however, the reason the youtube videos and galleries are shown inline is because its much cleaner than putting “youtube video 1″, “youtube video 2″ in the menu when theres more than one. Im quite tempted to alter the browser page to something like this, but work on a better look for the gallery/youtube buttons.

Still, overall it looks pretty damn awesome :)

Thanks. Leave the logo as is – Looks like I don’t have luck with making the new logo – this was my second try. If there is a way to help you with some design stuff for the future versions – I’ll be happy to do it.
