They keyword for the title is new, so if you have been using Windows Phone for a while then you might be familiar with most if not all of these little tips. There are many more of tips and tricks and we hope to cove them in the future.

  1. Scientific Calculator : Access the Scientific Calculator by opening the calculator and rotating the handset to landscape view, similar to what the iPhone does
  2. Priority level and add CC and BCC to an email : You can set priority level and add CC and BCC to an email by tapping on the three dots in the bottom right corner. A context menu will slide in to view and now you can select “priority” or “show cc & bcc” to your email.
  3. Customize website thumbnails pinned to the home screen: while in IE Mobile on wp7 zoom in to any section of the page. Click on the three dots in the bottom right corner. A context menu will slide in to view and now you can select “pin to start” and this will make a tile on the home page using a small screenshot of the zoomed in area
  4. Find a word on a webpage : while in IE Mobile, click on the three dots in the bottom right corner. A context menu will slide in to view and now you can select “find on page” and that will allow you to search for text on the page.
  5. Activate Voice Controls on Windows Phone 7 via microsoft
    To Say this

Call someone from your contact list

"Call contact name" (where contact name is the name of someone in your contact list)

    Call any phone number

"Call phone number" (where phone number is any phone number, whether it belongs to a contact or not)

    Search the web

"Find search term" or "Search for search term" (where search term is the term you want to search the web with)

    Open an application

"Open application" or "Start application" (where application is the name of any application on your phone, such as "Calendar," "Maps," or "Music")

  6. Quickly switch the phone to Silent mode/Vibrate : Press the volume button on the side and click on the small image on the top right
  7. Quickly stop the audio player playing when you are using some other app : Press volume button and audio player should show in a bar at the top and you can pause the audio
  8. Filmstrip view in pictures gallery – Use the pinch to zoom gesture while in the pic gallery in landscape mode
  9. Pocket to Picture : Press and hold the camera button to quickly launch the camera app, even while the phone is in standby mode !!
  10. This is only for Optus Carrier in Australia , the support people from your carrier might be able to give you more info on the codes used by your carrier. If you find it out do drop us a comment below. I find that the number of times the phone rings before going to voice mail is annoyingly short so I find it best to disable voice mail. To turn off Voicemail completely just type: #61# from the dialer and press the call button

I have not tried this but it might work ( via kewpid ) .. you could also use: **61*0411000321**[time delay in seconds e.g. 15, 20, 25, 30]# and hit call.
So to change the amount of time before a call is sent to voicemail to 25 seconds you would type: **61*0411000321**25# and hit call.

Plz do share your tips and tricks with us and we will try and include it in future Tips and Tricks videos.
